I had the best experiences at the Desert Botanical Garden! You can take a walk through the garden, or have a nice lunch at the Patio Cafe, which has great food! The Butterfly Exhibit is a must-see!
Make sure you check out Desert Bells playing one night during las noches de las luminarias.
Great place to visit before the summer heat. Chihuly in the Garden is a must see. It runs until May 18th.
Go to Desert Botanical Gardens. Take the flashlight tour to see the garden out of the heat in the summer.
Green thumbs love wandering through the rare agave and aloe varieties.
Maybe bring an umbrella for those 104• days

It was wonderful and very beautiful :)
The butterfly exhibit is borderline magical -definitely go. The gardens are really well-maintained, especially when I went during the Chihuly exhibit. I'm not a huge fan of the desert but I enjoy it.
Concerts on Friday night are the way to go!
Make sure to watch the wildlife outside the cafe, not the restaurant, the cafe
What a beautiful place to see. Highly recommend. Butterfly exhibit was super cool too.
It's very easy to get lost, especially if not sober.
it is hot in the summer...bring plenty of water and refill it as you walk the park
Take advantage of Culture Pass if you can. It is free admission for 4.
This is a great place to come on a nice day. It is very relaxing and very interesting and pretty. You learn a lot about the Arizona desert!
They may still give half price entrance tickets for college students like they did five years ago. Try to remember some plants' names and decipher what their long name compounds.
Free admission today including the butterfly pavilion.
Always a favorite activity with every trip to Phoenix.
I came here for the Phoenix Chamber mixer. So beautiful, especially at Sun down.
Attended the Yelp in Bloom event. Beautiful night!
The Luminarias exhibit featuring Chihuly is a fantastic exhibit and one worth seeing at night during the special late night showings.
Great place. AAA discount available. Bring water if it is hot!
Difficult to get from town by public transportation- you either walk, or need to change buses at zoo. Weird.
Put your walking shoes on and go in the evening
Great place to visit while visiting AZ. It was so beautiful and peaceful. There was a brief sand storm, but it passed quickly w/no concerns.
Coming for Noches de las Luminarias? Arrive as close to opening as you can, and drink it all in as slowly as possible. Dare to put away your camera, and enjoy the moment for what it is.
Free for active military.
The butterfly exhibit is one of the coolest things at the Gardens. You get to interact with the as they land on you. I think it is only in the spring though
They brought back the Chihuly exhibit, it's a must see! Such interesting and beautiful pieces of art.
One of the most unique places in the Tempe/Scottsdale area. You don't realize all the unique plant life in the desert until you visit. Some of the attractions are seasonal, Spring is best.
One of the best date places in Arizona.
Chihuly is back! Even if you aren't a fan of the traditional botanical garden experience you should go to see his work. It is amazing. I recommend a seeing it both during the day and night.
