Order the Shrimp and Grits, but ask for it with the Yucatan Sauce. The best! Also like the Carribean Jerk tostados - so fresh and light. Have been coming here for 11 yesrs. Rarely disappointed.
The seafood at Doc Ford's is delish. We had great fish tacos and the Yucatan shrimp is SO good. They have an excellent key lime pie as well. Good ambiance, good food, Island staple. It's a must!
I love the Dinkin's Bay Boil shrimp. I order extra sauce to sop it up. My dad always gets the ribs and they are great too. Go early, place gets busy - even in the off-season. A winner!
As we were finishing our after dinner drinks, I saw the bus person clean the nearest table. That dude totally eradicated any possible source of Covid. Best cleaning procedure ever!
The oysters were hit & miss, some plump & flavorful, others minuscule. To talk of other things: the Yucatan Shrimp tacos were good, as was the buffalo shrimp app. Try the Mount Gay Black Barrel rum.
Talk to your waiter if you don't think your meal is great. They really want you to enjoy it. Over 30 meals here, they only had to redo 1. Then , 30 perfect meals.
Loved the mussels and the atmosphere. Awesome service for an unexpected party of 17. Handled it gracefully, and I will be recommending Doc's to my friends headed to Sanibel.
Grab a glass of fine rum and Roasted Half-Chicken with a Cuban Chimichurri Sauce. Slow roasted chicken served over a potato hash with onions, mildest amazon peppers and panama-style chorizo sauce.
Everything was excellent. I've read everything Randy Wayne White has written in the last 15 years, so "Doc Ford" is like an old friend. If only his popularity had not ramped up the crowds!

Waitress was rude. Mango Mojitos were good but skimpy on the alcohol. The Yucatan shrimp tacos were delicious, but only 2 tacos and rice and beans for $15?! Insane.
