- Might I suggest Preferred Access? This airport is always bustling!
- Carlene ReidApril 3, 2013Give yourseld plenty of time...economy parking, ticketing, security, tram, to gate can take atleast 1 hour.
- Will SorensenOctober 24, 2014It's quicker than it has been in the past. The train system is nice. It's on 4 minute intervals.
- If you need to get between A1-A6 and C28, take the peoplemover/shuttle (that says its just for D) rather than the train. Far faster.
- SamsoniteMay 3, 2011Traveling with a furry friend? Dulles International Airport has 5 locations for pet relief. These fun locations have K-9 grass, a white picket fence, and a fake fire hydrant.
- Chris MeadorsNovember 6, 2010Southwest terminal is tricky. It's in "section" 1 of the four in the only departure terminals. Then it's literally on the back of the area facing the tarmacs, behind the other check in desks.
- Aniya NelsonApril 17, 2019wear comfortable shoes in case your terminal is far. and I mean reallllllyyyy comfortable
- While in town catch a special advance movie screening with txtmovieclub.com. Text message invites too special advance movie screenings!
- Star Alliance gold members... Check out the Lufthansa lounge in terminal B, especially if you have a first class ticket!
- Trying to pick people up at the arrival gates can be frustrating. The airport police don't consistently enforce posted directions and rules.
- If you're on gate D, you'll still have to deal with the "people movers". Aside from that, the train system they have is okay.
- Shelly NYCAugust 4, 2011Get your breakfast at five guys, they cook your eggs when you order, not the eggy masses that sit under an orange light all morning like other spots
- Lindsey ButoracOctober 18, 2012Famiglia - expensive (but aren't all airport restaurants?) and YUMMY!! By A3 & A4
- Bryan AquinoOctober 28, 2010Dunkin' Donuts has an awesome croissant w/ sausage, egg, n cheese. Wish they had DD in Southern CA!.. It's between D4 & D5. :)
- Brian HSeptember 30, 2011TSA is a new low. Add at least an hour for standing in lines. If your lucky you'll get a little extra groping from one of them. No tipping please!!
- the california tortilla in term c has fantastic breakfast burritos. try the southwest style!
- David JenkinsMarch 23, 2013Be VERY careful if you have a close connection late at night here coming from out of country. They seem ill-equipped to deal both at Immigration and TSA. Almost missed my flight w/ 1.5 hrs.
- Grab a meal at the Subway in the Z gate area before taking the monster truck over to the D gates. Shorter lines = faster +better service.
- Flying out of Terminal C? Be sure to give yourself an extra 2 hours for the walk between the train & gates.
- Even though the immigration line is so long, but the staff are quite helpful with the form and information..
- Will finally become a viably convenient airport for DC-area residents once Metro line is finished. Until then, enjoy the long drive.
- John BSeptember 13, 2016Poorly planned layout. After a long construction period, travelers still need to walk a mile to get to their terminals. Airport workers are rude and don't care to help travelers even basic directions.
- Kevin LokaisinghFebruary 24, 2014Was never able to leave the gates, and because of that, my visit to Dulles was boring as hell. Was in the C section of the gates and it was just blah. That being said, hope to have a better trip here.
- Brittany ESeptember 10, 2011This place is ridiculous to navigate. Make sure you have plenty of time between flights to take a tram, a sub, and 20 escalators!
- Rob MendezNovember 28, 2011If the security lines by the baggage claim area are too long and you don't have many bags, someone usually comes by and takes you to the employee checkpoint instead. :-)
- Brad E.March 4, 2011Don't fly through here. Although, be sure and try the Chipotle breakfast menu! Only location in US that has it.
- Alberto NgaiNovember 17, 2011Free wifi & nice chairs to relax while you are waiting for your flight..
- Security is a bit slow but customs here is quick and efficient
- Ian ChinDecember 2, 2019I don’t think there is a greater distance between check-in and the gates in the USA than in Dulles. Plan accordingly.
- Getting through customs here is always a mess. Takes longer than any other airport I've been through.
- ScottSeptember 21, 2011Diamond Lane has become overflow lane and special assistance lane. It can be a nightmare especially if TSA is only running one xray lane.
- John MasciFebruary 11, 2014INSANELY spread out. Give yourself +30-40 minutes. Shuttle to tram to this weird elevated bus on the Tarmac. I walked over 1.6 miles from door to plane.
- First time using TSA Pre-Check...awesome! Shoes on, left laptop in bag. Life is good.
- IanSeptember 13, 2012If you have to go from a terminal to d32 or vice versa, you better have a lot of time or run your ass!
- Great airport. Show up early and plan your arrival around traffic.
- Bry BecklesMay 9, 2012Has great options to get from one side to the other! Free shuttles that run every 1/2 hour!!
- Abdulmoez TahmazMarch 30, 2018If i will travel to US again, i will go through this airport because of the fast process to go inside US
