Check in online
If you want to catch a plane in Edinburgh, this is the place to come ;)
Tweet @FlightStatus with your flight number and receive real-time flight information :)
Airlink is the BEST way of getting to the city centre! It's worth it! Only 6 pounds a return-trip!!!
Picking up a friend / relative? Go with the short stay car park which is £3.50 for an hour!
Get here early and enjoy some food In the Sir Walter Scott bar.
Inmediately after you go past the door after the security, there is a water fountain to refill your water bottles.
Bring a jacket it's freezing!
The £1 drop off charge is a nice wee indicator of the contempt which this airport has for you :)
Must visit: The huge interactive museum of Edinburgh, Our Dynamic Earth. Witness the Big Bang from the bridge of a spaceship through the Hubble telescope.
The stupid pseudo hologram information things at security really do talk to us like idiots.
There's free Internet in the Car Rental Centre
Every time I've flown from here it's been late in the day with a BA or EZY flight back to London. Never had a queue for security in all the times I've been here.
Try the seating area opposite Costa near gate 11. A little oasis of calm!
EAT is the best value place for breakfast here. Prices same as their High St shops and good service. No rip offs. Only £1.40 for big cup of tea.
Check in before they've formally called your flight to avoid the queues.
Free wifi finally! :)
Best value food are the £1 sandwiches at Boots, can't go wrong!
If you're travelling with unprocessed film, you should know they can be safely examined by x-ray machines without suffering ill effects.(It was previously advised to check them in).
A slick airport. Parking not the most expensive too
Since the building work was completed the shopping airside has become much better.
Roadworks at front of the terminal means car parking buses now pull into the stands opposite the multistorey. Don't get lost ?!
The sir walter Scott is an average airport bar. A good size but slow service.
If you want domestic flights I would totally recommend Virgin Little Red.
Grab the express bus into town. It's quick and only £3.50. A cab will set you back £20.
Be prepared for the long walk to the new car hire centre. No buses !
Try the lovely big massaging chairs in the departure lounge - you should never pass up the opportunity for a chair massage in my opinion.
often long queues at security in the morning as they don't open all security lanes so arrive early!
When Dropping Off make sure you have £1 and don't pay by card. You can only Drop Off in the Drop Off area
The cost to use fasttrack security is only £3. Well worth it during the summer holidays
Airline service to the city centre is amazing! Always two waiting outside the airport, leave every few minutes and only 6 pounds return!
Here we come Shannon, Ireland
There's a new bus route straight from Glasgow to Edinburgh airport - very handy!
Good range of places to eat in the departure lounge for the size of airport and lots of seating with a good view of airside to help alleviate the boredom of waiting.
Free wifi on bus!
Charging £1 for pickup/dropoff makes us look like a cheapskate, penny-pinching country. Bad idea if we want to attract international investment!
Planes land here
Edinburgh Airport is known for its responsible plans for population growth, passenger demand, cleaner water usage, noise reduction and waste management.
To charge your phone, head to Gate 23 where there are spare plug sockets hiding behind the wooden chairs.
Say hi to a world of people travelling around you. Be Social ;-)
The porridge from EAT could maybe be worse than the porridge from Wetherspoons. Blergh!
Take the airlink express into town. Return ticket £6
Hello, Scotland! :-)
Flybe like edi so much they're planes always stay longer than scheduled.
Eat is the best option for food
