A cute old fashioned venue!
The cheese plate was delicious, as was the special — halibut seared in lemon juice & capers and served with olives, asparagus spears & mashed potatoes. Amazing! Make sure to drop in before it leaves!
Get the smoked salmon with arugula & lemon, but sub in chevre for the cream cheese. Much better!
This earthworks installation is on private land, but if you can arrange permission on the summer solstice, you can watch the sun rise and set in alignment with the cairns & stone circles of the site.
Perfect patio out back: sun-dappled, shady & cozy. Decent cover, too, if you get caught in one of Portland's sudden sunshowers!
Nourishment, a food cart by the music stage, has the best breakfast burritos around. Order the Shepard!
They may still be in transition, but that's no excuse for the terrible service & downright rudeness we got from the staff. But if you want a sub-dive bar experience at hipster prices, you're in luck.
Ask someone to point you to the steampunk jewelry made by a local artist. Some really cool stuff!
The $6 large pepperoni is a great deal, and one of my favorite pies in town (this from a guy who usually springs for more exotic slices!)
Try the egg drop soup for sure! And if you get the urge for carry-out and it's 5 just minutes till close, don't fret — you might be able to pick your order up at the Chin Yen bar next door!
Fall of the House, a semi-improvised sitcom, runs here about twice a year. It's hilarious — get the season pass and save $$!
Definitely catch one of the monthly showings of The Room; it's fucking amazing. Don't forget the plastic spoons!
