Tung Thong Thai RestaurantThai • New York, United States
Best Thai in the neighborhood, hands down.
Stranded at Bleecker and Broadway looking for something to do.
Too many computers, not enough books.
With the music and the clientele, I age about 20 years eating in here.
Not what it used to be; I counted 12 vacant shops last time I was there. It's sad. And yeah, beware the Gundam guy.
Woah, flashback 1987. Every time I come here I imagine some yuppie doing lines off the back of a gold toilet.
Not the same as the old location on St. Marks and Ave A. Same 50% off sushi deal, but the service was way off, and it wasn't even that busy. Seriously disappointed. And they are cash only!
Before I walk in: "Ah, a nice, quiet, out-of-the-way place to study that, best of all, nobody knows about." After I walk in: "Dammit."
It's a little pricy and the food is meh, but the service and the "Old New York-y" atmosphere is terrific.
While I was coaching my heavily dosed friend as he got his eyes lasered, I overheard the doctor lecture his assistant about payments and Facebook endorsements. This place is TACKY.
This place smells sterile. Not sure if that's a good thing.
The only honest to goodness supermarket that stays open past 9. In this neighborhood, that's golden.
If you get here early enough, like say, 3 AM, it feels like you got locked in a mall after hours. As in creepy.
Don't let Little Caesar's down the street kill them. Quality over price.
