Our home state is turning 136 and we want to share with you some of the best things Colorado has to offer.
1. History Colorado Center
Colorado: Opening in April 2012, this brand-new, high-tech, Smithsonian Affiliate museum brings Colorado history to life through stories and exhibits right in the Golden Triangle Museum District.
2. Garden of the Gods
Colorado: Entrance to the park is free, thanks to the family of Charles Elliott Perkins who donated the land to Colorado Springs in 1909.
3. Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre
Colorado: Much of today's Red Rocks Amphitheatre was carved out by the Civilian Conservation Corps as part of Roosevelt's New Deal.
4. Pearl Street Mall
Colorado: The traffic signal at Broadway and Pearl was the first in the country to feature a visible countdown timer for pedestrians.
5. Stanley Hotel
Colorado: Parts of Stanley Kubrick's movie "The Shining" were filmed at The Stanley Hotel.
6. United States Mint
Colorado: The US Mint in Denver is one of only six in the country.

11. Denver International Airport (DEN)

12. Denver Zoo
Colorado: One of the nation’s most popular zoos, this City Park landmark takes you on a globetrotting safari. Go nose to nose with a polar bear, trade funny faces with gorillas and stretch necks with giraffes.

Colorado: The Royal Gorge suspension bridge can support an excess of 2 million pounds.
16. Winter Park Resort
YMCA of the Rockies: For a family friendly ski run, take the Gemini Express lift up and ski down Village Way to Lower Parkway, which returns you to the base of the mountain.
