Hong HuongGrocery Store • Hong Kong
Main deliveries from Vietnam on Sunday afternoon.
Wow ! Goose is a fatty bird, but here it looks like they got a lipo while roasting ! So tender and crispy skin without the fat. Excellent joint. Char Sui is not bad either.
Not bad @all ! It has the Viet taste at least and no MSG ! They are not greedy on herbs and flavors are there.
There are now 2 main locations with a group of sitting area near the pier, and another one near the temple. It can be quiet or loud depending were you sit. Honey & pepper scampi were excellent !
The right forms are available not thru a google search, but from the homepage: http://www.fmcoprc.gov.hk/eng/fwxx/bgxz/P020130917485970735693.pdf
As usual : don't use the forms from the not updated site. They are not the right one since 2012 (last time I was here). New location at the 3rd floor, but still no drinks inside and freezing room.
Bit of fusion, bit traditional. Not bad at all. At least the service is well done, food is flavorful and lots of herbs. Good value !
Yuk ! If you have to brine something, then you can order Phở. We had the super salty Big Bowl of Phở with rare steak (tài), meatballs, brisket & tendon. No coriander available. Rude service.
Bread taste good, cakes looks good but the take away packaging is poor !
Lovely place ! Homemade food, no cheating in the basket (no plates for burgers). The pork belly is just fabulous, as good as the angus burger ! Cajun chicken burger was great too, very juicy !
Excellent Cha Siu.. Chicken & crispy pork belly was great too. Not too salty.
15% off for HSBC Premier customers. French Kings cake ( Galette des Rois) in January : both Frangipane and Couronne.
It is not the best Vietnamese food in the world, but it is a valuable Vietnamese in Hong Kong ! So far one of the best in variety.
The more you try, the more you get addicted. Fresh spring rolls are great ! Bun Rieu is good too. The specialty is the Banh Mi, the baguettes are not the best (but close to what you get in Vietnam).
So we tried the Galette des Rois (Kings cake): not bad at all. Good Frangipane cream and the Feuilleuté was light and crusty. Try to get one during January (whole 6p cake 315$ or slice 40$).
Croissants are good, not excellent (I'm a bit spoiled as a French). But the Financier is from another world. Should try the chocolate chips & orange rolls.
Nice restaurant and very friendly staff. The food is good (Nem Ran are delicious).
