"This 148-seat restaurant has the feel of a Michael Pollan book come to life." -- The NY Times
incredibly tasty California style mushroom pizza! perfect crust and great flavor. if a cocktail you've had here before isn't on the menu anymore, you can ask to have an in season version of it made.
The poached eggs were OMGThisIsSentFromHeaven
The soda is weird at first, I saw a little girl make a face when she tried and pushed it across the table to someone else. It's like fizzy vinegar.
Gather is where you take your fancy vegan friend
Organic and sustainable haven, with recycled leather belts on booth seats. Pizzas really good. And fermented appetizer plate worth trying.
Had a great brunch here, which included their spicy tomato pizza with anchovies. The poached egg with ragu was good, and the pancakes were as well.
Serves locally made sodas in wild flavors for the teetotaler in your group.
Complex & innovative layers of flavor & texture, healthy and satisfying, in an open & harmonious space.
Arugula salad, and Steamed Mussels
Fontinella pizza was great (good cheese and good crust). The chocolate chip cookie was AMAZING!
Pancetta pizza was fantastic!
Get the French Toast if you like things that are obscenely sweet. Nothing subtle about this dish.
Really innovative cocktails, of their own invention and classics done up with new ingredients.
One of the best vegan meals I've ever had and my husband had the best chicken meal he's ever had.
If you get your coffee to go they put it in a hollow gourd for you.
Roast chicken is not my fav thing (plus I really don't like chicken meat), but you should try the roast chicken here. It is finger-licking good. :)
little gem salad, house coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, egg sandwich
The best thing we had was a bottle of Pinot From #HandleyCellars we brought in. All the dishes we tried were confused and blah, service was terrible and we ended up on a table for two with 3 people.
Vegan Sadness :~(
The Walnut French Toast for Brunch is prime. Friendly staff and a nice, casual vibe makes for a lovely experience outside of the chaos that is Downtown Berkeley.
Nettle scramble is awesome too much for me to finish. Poached eggs and the French Toast also looks amazing.
Order a Bloody Mary & the egg pizza. Good lord. It's an out of body experience.
Excellent paleo friendly brunch spot! Asked for my scrambled eggs dish to be gluten free & dairy free - and they were very accommodating.
Came for brunch very excited but ultimately was disappointed. Ordered the egg sandwich, which would have been delicious had the eggs not been totally overcooked. Sad brunch fail.
Try the Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie - Vegan cookie to make amends for defiling the vegan pizza with meat. ;-)
Try the Wagon Wheel grilled cheese - with tomatoes and mushrooms. Grown up cheese sandwich.
Try the Spicy Tomato Pizza - Tomato, cashew puree, capers...oh yeah, and we added pancetta. To a vegan pizza. It was really good.
Try the Heirloom Tomato Salad - This was so good. Nothing better than a perfectly ripe tomato.
Try the Gruner Veltliner - When this is on the wine list by the glass, I get it.
Try the Tomato Salad - Linda's tomato salad. Fresh and fabulous. I never get to eat enough tomatoes in California.
Reservations thru open table is the way to go.
Vegan charcuterie = bomb diggity.
Go for brunch on weekends. The duck confit hash and french toast are delish!!
I was really excited about this place, it appears its a tad overrated
People frequently order the chicken for a reason - it's fcking fantastic.
Try the Quail - Served with duck sausage, pickled radish, bean salad, and beet puree. Striking and delicious.
Try the Local Grains - A lovely variation on risotto.
Try the Vegan Charcuterie - Astounding! Inspired! Yes, it's meat on a plate with no meat.
Yogurt strawberry granola has almost no yogurt. Good but very small
Don't eat the sticky pudding :(
Try the a cauliflower soup or the kale salad as a start! Then go with burger (really good) or the tomatoe pizza
Get the soup and salad as starters, and order the Vegan Charcuterie for dinner!
Try the Poached Eggs - pork belly was so good had a chorizo like seasoning
Avoid the Bloody Mary, it's strangely sweet.
