"This 148-seat restaurant has the feel of a Michael Pollan book come to life." -- The NY Times
One word: “vegetable charcuterie”. OK, it’s two words and evokes five senses, but just order it. - Inspector
Gather’s California-style pizza is perfectly in balance. It is perfectly delicious. - Jeffrey Saad, United Tastes of America
Vegetable Charcuterie - rainbow of flavor!
The steamed Kale salad is delicious with pine nuts, fried capers, red onion and roasted carrots.
The menu changes with the seasonally fresh food.A bonus dining experience when you can walk to and from the resturant!
Try the chicken under a brick! Delish.
Vegan Sadness :~(
Food blogger Laura from Kitchen Illiterate recommends Gather. “Their menu isn’t strictly vegetarian, yet all of their dishes highlight beautiful, seasonal produce.”
Get the soup and salad as starters, and order the Vegan Charcuterie for dinner!
very attentive and quick service on a busy Friday night! our waiter was great.
Vegan charcuterie was crazy good. Novel and fun
Come here for Brunch. Great pork belly and eggs. Must try the Kale.
Best brunch in the East Bay, get a brunch pizza, slap an egg on that thing. Also try one of their inventive brunch cocktails, they don't disappoint.
Order the vegan charcuterie. It's amazing!
Had a great brunch here, which included their spicy tomato pizza with anchovies. The poached egg with ragu was good, and the pancakes were as well.
little gem salad, house coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, egg sandwich
The best thing we had was a bottle of Pinot From #HandleyCellars we brought in. All the dishes we tried were confused and blah, service was terrible and we ended up on a table for two with 3 people.
The Walnut French Toast for Brunch is prime. Friendly staff and a nice, casual vibe makes for a lovely experience outside of the chaos that is Downtown Berkeley.
Nettle scramble is awesome too much for me to finish. Poached eggs and the French Toast also looks amazing.
Came for brunch very excited but ultimately was disappointed. Ordered the egg sandwich, which would have been delicious had the eggs not been totally overcooked. Sad brunch fail.
Try the Tomato Salad - Linda's tomato salad. Fresh and fabulous. I never get to eat enough tomatoes in California.
I was really excited about this place, it appears its a tad overrated
Try the Vegan Charcuterie - Astounding! Inspired! Yes, it's meat on a plate with no meat.
Yogurt strawberry granola has almost no yogurt. Good but very small
Don't eat the sticky pudding :(
Did I really just pay $80 for shitty food? Dear God.
Not a place you would expect to run into your everyday college student. Definitely caters to an older/alumni crowd. Food was overpriced for what it was. Would explore other options before going back.
Foam! Vegan charcuterie!
Order one of their fabulous brunch pizzas and add an egg.
Dinner was not as appetizing as lunch... Pizza was just okay, albacore salad was just okay. Vegan charcuterie was special, but also just okay.
I know this isn't supposed to be the type of thing to love at a place like this, but man, Gather has some good fries.
Kale "Caesar" far exceeds expectations.
Must try: Crispy pork belly. Also great: Kale salad, Lentil soup.
Come after 11:30 to have access to the whole menu other wise it's not worth it. Beware the recycled belt booth TONS of crumbs in there. Don't miss the house made sparkling water
Lunch was ok. Pizza was not the greatest crust but the ingredients are quite good. Beet salad was excellent. Back for dinner soon...
All the cocktails are awesome but you gotta try Greg's Pisco Sour!
Gather berkeley Brunch. Unbelievable and undiscovered so far!
Sit at the bar where they serve the full menu, without the wait!
Serves locally made sodas in wild flavors for the teetotaler in your group.
Complex & innovative layers of flavor & texture, healthy and satisfying, in an open & harmonious space.
Arugula salad, and Steamed Mussels
Fontinella pizza was great (good cheese and good crust). The chocolate chip cookie was AMAZING!
Pancetta pizza was fantastic!
Get the French Toast if you like things that are obscenely sweet. Nothing subtle about this dish.
