Favourite haunts of Piehunter, a London based group dedicated to finding the best pie, meat and pub entertainment. Let the pie love-in commence. www.piehunter.co.uk
1. Counting House
Gloverboy: A Piehunter favourite. Beautiful converted bank, excellent selection of ales and home of the Counting House pie platter. Not to be missed.
2. Founder's Arms
Gloverboy: The Founders Arms has stunning views over St Pauls and the City of London. And a decent Steak and Mushroom in Young's Ale pie at £10.95.
3. Keens Steakhouse
Gloverboy: Piehunter rarely goes outside its pie remit, but Keen's is worthy of the occasion and a special mention. Famous for its mutton chops, but the T-bone steak won't disappoint.
4. Queens Hotel
Gloverboy: Tom Hood at the Queen's Hotel is famous for his monster pies. And rightly so. The main focus of his menu is the unbelievably huge steak and ale pie served with cheesy leak mash and peas.
5. Borough Market
Gloverboy: Mrs Kings stall offering a pie with some serious heritage - a hand made pork pie produced in Cotgrave to a traditional recipe by Ian Hart and his family. Elizabeth King started the business in 1853.
6. The Guinea Grill
Gloverboy: A decent pie venue and home of the Pie Institute of Excellence (P.I.E) club.
7. Emirates Stadium
Gloverboy: The chicken balti pie is a great half time winter warmer. And served in an Arsenal branded box too.
8. The Wapping Project
Gloverboy: This is no pie house, but if the wild rabbit pie with mustard mash and gravy is on the menu it's a must.
Gloverboy: Two daily pie specials makes this venue a Piehunter favourite. Steak and kidney, served with creamy mash and some crunchy greens, is a top choice.
10. The Anchor & Hope
Gloverboy: Gastropub Anchor & Hope serves an awesome pie. A Piehunter favourite is the steak pie for two - a thick pastry top hides a huge portion of brilliant beef and tasty gravy.
11. The Highway inn
Gloverboy: Serves a delicious game pie which came with a tasty bubble and squeak together with roasted carrots. Serves a good quality selection of ales and specials.
12. The Mercer
Gloverboy: Try the Mercer Pie. A delicious rump steak and mushroom option soaked in a London porter ale for a rich, dark and incredibly tasty gravy. A decent short crust pastry. Recommended.
13. Great Queen Street
Gloverboy: If it's on offer, don't think twice about the chicken and leak pie for two. Piping hot and fresh from the oven, the pastry was a fantastic suet-crust.
14. Newman Arms
Gloverboy: The Pie Room menu includes a unrivalled selection of eleven regular suet and standard pie options in addition to a number of daily specials. Extra mash sides are essential.
15. Speed the Plough
16. Memphis Minnie's BBQ
17. The White Horse
18. Jerusalem Tavern
19. Delmonico's Restaurant Steak House Grill
20. The Standard Grill
21. Jerusalem Tavern
Gloverboy: A wonderful pub. Even better if you can get a seat. Enjoy the St Peter's Brewery cask ales and probably the best pork pie in London. With mustard of course. www.piehunter.co.uk
