Wine Bars9 Tips
Try the shrimp and grits with a slice of pecan pie.
The hush puppies and she-crab soup are great.
Service is very slow, and there is a cop stationed there Saturday evening/Sunday morning, so mind the clientele.
Do a tasting with Raven, the coolest and most knowledgeable member of the staff. Try the unique iced Chardonnay and some fantastic Rieslings.
They're famous for the Red Cat, but try the Riesling. Great casual atmosphere here on beautiful grounds.
Try the Saperavi. It's normally a blending grape, but sometimes a particular harvest is so good, the winemaker has it bottled by itself. No other Finger Lakes winery is producing it at this time.
Watch the venue's Facebook page for discounts on the door fee and free shots.
They have a cool jukebox full of metal, pool tables, a great menu, and there's plenty of room to move around. Very nice staff members. There is a stage for rock shows--very good sound and lights.
Very cool small venue for rock shows. Great sound, and you can eat before the show at the connected sports bar.
If it's an all ages show, you are only allowed to purchase one beer at a time. There's no air conditioning in summer, but the sound is great.
Great small venue that features lots of national acts. The Purple Puffin serves small plates inside, and there is a $3 fee to bring your own alcohol.
The hotel leases their parking lot on game days, so even if you are not attending the sporting event, as a hotel guest they will make you pay $15 to park in their lot.
You get a bed and a shower. That's it. No internet, no toiletries, no carpet on the floor, no coffeemaker, no hairdryer. Hotel is pretty noisy but parking is free.
Park as close to the venue as you can. Venue is in a bad neighborhood known for stabbings and car break-ins.
Great free breakfast in the morning and free wifi. Super helpful and nice staff at the front desk. For late night meals, Sisson Avenue Pizza will deliver here till 4am.
Spacious wood-paneled venue but pretty crowded. Rude staff. $7 to park at the last show I attended here, so bring cash.
Parking is about $25 no matter which nearby lot you try. Gorgeous old building, good sound, rude staff.
Free wifi but the rooms are pretty beat up. Fridge & microwave provided but no coffeemaker or toiletries.
Great food, but unreasonably angry, rude men working security. Will not allow diabetics to bring in snacks, but joints are fine. There is a cold, corporate vibe here. So unpleasant.
