They don't have decaf :(
Israeli-born & raised, based in NYC. Lover of cinema, dining out, theater, live music, dance performances, art shows, and travel. Love inappropriate humor ;-)
A nice mall, avoid on weekends (of on Sunday through Thursday). Bathrooms are a bit hidden in the middle of a row of stores. Grab coffee or lunch at Cafe Landwer or Joe Cafe.
One of the best breakfasts I've had in Israel. Get the italian breakfast (if you're 2 get the couple's breakfast - cheaper). The cappuccino are Italian size (small, not American style) but excellent.
Staff changes often so it's challenging to recommend. If you get your haircut every 2 weeks, get a membership. Book in advance - they get filled up quick. They serve free beer so ask for it.
Rooms are tiny but nicely designed. A duplex room has a small space downstairs with 2 chairs and a TV and a small bedroom is upstairs. But the real plus is 2 toilets.
When it's busy, even if you have a reservation, they may make you wait 20 minutes. Sucky attitude by hostesses on top.
$9.95 lunch special. Get the lentil soup, chicken tikka masala, and rice pudding. You can ask for more rice, don't be shy. It's a great deal. You'll walk out stuffed.
The food here is quite good. The key is to remember that you're on the island, you don't really have choices, and to not get angry over the inflated prices. Just have a drink, relax, and enjoy. ;)
If you're staying at the hotel, make sure you tell the staff at the fifth floor elevator that you're a hotel guest, Otherwise, simply click 72 on the regular guest elevator.
The concept of a line in Israel is quite blurry. So when entering the line for gate security, keep your elbows out, because Israeli people will be cutting the line right and left. Enjoy :-)
The tips are out of date. Monica will give you a hot towel service and Lauren gives a kickass haircut. They serve free beer, so ask for it!
Eating healthy in Terminal A - there's nothing past the securuty check, so yiur best option is Qdoba at the small food court. Get the chicken salad in a bowl. Skip the cheese. Dream of better meals.
The hotel shuttle is supposed to run every half hour. From the hotel maybe it's on time. But waiting for it at the airport can sometimes take an hour. It gets packed, so make sure you get on...
The $10 voucher you got from the airline? You can use it towards food in this bar (but not alcohol. The burger is decent) and you get to commiserate with other passengers who got stuck here overnight.
If you're returning a rental car, give yourself additional 45 minute minutes.
