Let's be honest, this place is an institution! 😄 Sure it isn't the nicest train station out there but there's plenty of stuff around & it's in books and movies so I just have to rate the place highly
Former main train station. Famous for the adjacent zoo als well as 1981 movie "Christiane F. – Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo," featuring drugs, sex and David Bowie.
Great for the zoo, bombed our church and plenty of shopping. The usual Berlin standard station too, may be a bit grubby but miles better than the English equivalent.
The fastest way to the U2 (Pankow): Leave the station, turn right and cross the Hardenbergstraße. You will see a blue cube with a white U on it. GO down there and you are on the right platform.
There's a free tour that meets outside the Dunkin' Donuts at 8.30am and 12.30pm. Look out for the red shirts (tour leaders). Unfortunately the one day we tried to go for it, nobody turned up. Read more
Read more
