Absolutely beautiful. More impressive than the Hagia Sofia. Visit right before the close for late afternoon prayers (3.30ish) to avoid a ridiculous queue which you'll see in the morning.

In other words Blue Mosque. Located in the Old Town, its name is coming from the blue tiles surrounding the walls of interior design. Mosque was built between 1609 -1616.

One of the most special places in the whole Istanbul. It’s being restored though now but even a walk outside is worth it. A marvelous example of architecture and a real symbol of Istanbul!

The mosque is still used by worshippers for prayers, so if you are non-worshipper, you should enter from the north entrance in order to keep the sacredness of the place.
