The airport is not for European soul)) but trust me dear visitors, it awesome comparing to TUMEN, Yoshkarala(yes, it's also a Russian city) and other amazing Russian airports :)

I am always super happy here in my travels to Russia. You can find your way also without Russian and there are nice stores :) one of my favourite airports in Russia!!!

I have been flying all over Kazakhstan and Zambia even and I have never seen such a pity proportion of organization to a passenger flow. One can see it by very entry door (try to find one that works)

After reconstruction and new terminal launch has became much better! Now it's hard to imagine that small caffe and shop area at domestic flights was a whole airport some years ago.

You have to wait for transfer to pulkovo 2 forever. Forever. And then the "fun" drive through the highway. Might as well miss the flight. Allow extra time when choosing your connection time.

Make sure you arrive a few hours early. The airport is very disorganized and hard to find where to check in and board. They are usually understaffed with very long lines. Expect to wait a long time.

You can enter the building from the arrive section on the ground floor. There are not many people like in enter on the 1st floor

Haggle with the taxi drivers. Don't pay more than 900 Rubbles for a taxi to the city centre. You can prob get it even cheaper than this.

Long, long walk from Terminal D to Terminal F (20-30min) on transfer. Additional time to pass through immigration. They scrutinise your visa with a magnifying eye glass, literally!

Pullover airport is a f""" shame of St. Petersburg, soviet style crap.Plus annoying City bank addicted people and always delay of luggage delivery. It is a Great city but this airport is a nightmare.

If you fly domestic into Petersburg/LED, you'll go to this airport, Pulkovo-1. International flights go to Pulkovo-2, a different airport. End up in the wrong one? look for the hourly shuttle bus.

The most annoying and dumbest security check people/monkeys ever! This airport is in need of review of the security procedure and the scanners - they will save at least two monkeys per scanner..

If you're hungry, you'd better satisfy your needs after checkin but before security check. Otherwise be prepared for soviet-style sandwiches and shitty coffee at the gate entrance.

The worst airport ever. Seriously. "It was a rough place - the seediest dive on the wharf. Populated with every reject and cutthroat from Bombay to Calcutta. It's worse than Detroit."

Never! Never use this airport for transit. Us fit for a holiday or end stop BUT NEVER try and transit here. It's a bloody nightmare :-)
