- Joanne WrightOctober 10, 2014You can walk up but there is also a cable car to the right hand side as you look at the building opposite the bridge. Lovely views and they had a palinka and whiskey festival at the top. Extra cost.Upvoted 1 day ago
- NikkaJanuary 31, 2015Monument castle on the hill above the city. There are galleries, spots to enjoy the view or admire the architecture, visit history expositions, try some medieval activities with locals or buy some arts.Upvoted Jan 28
- Joanne WrightOctober 10, 2014Some people have added photos here of the Matthias church ... It's a separate building about a ten minute walk away. It's not the castle. The castle is the building with the blue dome.Upvoted Jan 2
- We Love BudapestOctober 15, 2014Don't miss the World Heritage-listed Royal Palace and Castle Hill. Home to the Hungarian National Gallery, the Budapest History Museum, famous Fishermen's Bastion, tiled roof of the Matthias Church.
- Priya TungrusJune 5, 2016Beautiful castle - a mixture of different architecture. You can still see some of the medieval castle through the history museum part.
- Mark BJune 28, 2018Very pretty with great views of Danube and Pest. Museum is closed on Monday’s. Take the Funicular from the base of the castle to the top. Cool little ride.
- IvarSeptember 12, 2018Save some money and do not take funicular nor castle buses to get to the top - it's just so easy to walk to the left of funicular (slight elevation) and take the free elevator to the top.
- Carl GriffinDecember 31, 2015Destroyed a rebuilt many times over the centuries. Huge impressive palace towering high on the Buda side of the river and dominating the Budapest skyline.

- Amit GaharwarJuly 17, 2018Grand and huge. A short walk from Fisherman's bastion. If you are coming from Clark Adam Tér then a short climb or take the lifts. Avoid the funicular. See the royal guard on horses.

- Ula LezhenkoJanuary 26, 2017Really interesting museum, but take an audio guide, otherwise it will be not that thoughtful. Exhibition starts from the top platform and it takes about 2 hours with a guide.
- Vivien BukovenszkiSeptember 1, 2012Today we visited Buda Castle and it is still really beautiful and there were lots of people because there is Beer Festival there. Visit it if you would like to taste it! ;)
