1. Brazen Head Irish Pub
Jason Paris: Named after Ireland's oldest pub... Dublin's Brazen Head (1198).
2. Dark Horse Espresso Bar
Jason Paris: The Americano mistos are perfect.
3. Terrence Donnelly Centre for Cellular and Biomolecular Research
Jason Paris: One of Toronto's best buildings of the 2000s. Maybe actually the best.
4. Nota Bene
Jason Paris: Can't go wrong here.
5. The Hamilton
Jason Paris: Decent selection of beers on tap. FYI... The Vanilla Porter is surprisingly good.
Jason Paris: Pizza at this chain is always decent. This location tends to be filthy though and they rarely tend to the state of the dirty tables unfortunately.
7. Dundas & Carlaw
Jason Paris: They don't know what a misto is... Yet.
8. Whelan's Gate
Jason Paris: Back patio. Upstairs awesomeness.
9. The Coffee Bar Inc
Jason Paris: Not that I mind, but this place is staffed by Aussies.
Jason Paris: Avoid the balding crazy haired cashier. Complete idiot and rude.
11. Duke's Refresher + Bar
Jason Paris: 40 beers is great, but the selection is a bit pedestrian to be honest.
12. Z-Teca Gourmet Burritos
Jason Paris: They play really good music here. Strangely mostly beginning with a "C"... Chromeo, Cut Copy and Cocteau Twins!
13. Boots n Bourbon
Jason Paris: Liking it. But music is way too loud.
14. Mad Dog Cafe
Jason Paris: Be prepared for slow brunch service, especially on a Sunday morning. Food is ok.
15. Loving Hut
Jason Paris: Tasty on the Green is my #1 choice, but I've yet to be disappointed with anything here.
16. Big Star
Jason Paris: Cheap and amazing. Need I say more?
17. Monument To The War Of 1812: Douglas Coupland
Jason Paris: Show your Americans friend and maybe they won't play with fire a second time.
18. McQueens Pub
Jason Paris: Best avoided. Strange service, barely mediocre food, weak selection of beers, bog standard decor, overwhelming sports on the TV, too wide a selection of music.
19. Pita & Grill
Jason Paris: Mediocre shawarma and horribly disinterested service.
20. Café Pamenar
Jason Paris: The cute gay barista with the toque plays the best music.
21. Loving Hut
Jason Paris: I tend to go for the daily special. It's consistently good (and good value!).
22. The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
Jason Paris: The only casino on the strip with decent music! Lots of indie rock and electro!
23. Urban Appetite
Jason Paris: There's a 10% discount for CBC/Radio-Canada employees. Just show your security tag or simply ask!
24. Todd English Pub
Jason Paris: Not at all "English." I'm listening to Guns 'n Roses and eating popcorn between slices of French Toast.
Jason Paris: Heard a rumour that Anderson Cooper's boyfriend owns this place.
26. New York by Gehry
Jason Paris: Look up for NYC's finest new building.
27. Nowhere Bar
Jason Paris: Love this place. Decent music, no attitude and all fun.
28. The Eagle
Jason Paris: Love the space. Love the terrace.
29. The Cock
Jason Paris: Dirty, dirty, dirty, dirty, dirty, bar. (but in a good way!)
30. High Line
Jason Paris: The weekend pedlock is at ridiculous levels. Go during the week if possible.
