‘Paddington Bear’ was written by Michael Bond in 1958. His bear arrived here somehow from ‘deepest, darkest Peru’ and was named after the station. You can find a statue of him near the escalators.
In 1911 this became the first tube station in London to get a stepped escalator. A one-legged man called ‘Bumper’ Harris was paid to travel and up and down it all day to prove how safe it was!
The exhibition centre began life as the National Agricultural Hall in 1885. The world’s largest military pageant, the Royal Tournament (est.1880), was held here from the 1900s to 1999.

Wildhorse initially capitalized on the line-dancing craze in the mid 90’s and it is home to the largest dance floor in the world at 4982 sq ft.
Opened in 1958 to recognize the career of former Cincinnati Reds players, managers & executives. The Cincinnati Chapter of Commerce helped promote the inductions in 1958 which were voted by Reds fans.
