Unbelievable department store. Best part is the food offering on the basement level. They have delicious food, thousands of options, breads, sushi, chinese, sweets.
People say that as department store is a must... I prefer its restaurants on the bottom floor. Two of them driven by Hide Yamamoto.

The Tokyu Hands shops focus on home improvement, hobby and lifestyle products. The prices are higher than average, but the selection is huge. Some English is spoken, but you must ask! Read more.
This offbeat shop is a souvenir-seeker’s dream, chock-full of unique finds such as brass necklaces made with tiny lightbulbs and tote bags in the shape of Do Not Disturb signs.
The shops are ok, but head to the rooftop patio and grab a drink from Starbucks (on the same floor) if you need a break from Harajuku. There are elevators near AE outside that take you to the patio.
Huge boutique for Comme des Garcons. I saw a lot of stuff I had never seen elsewhere.
Great cafe and a few good shops in the area. Make sure to check out the Japanese brand Universal Products next door.
Also has a small, relaxing cafe space which is very quiet when there is no exhibit on.
