The Monterey Bay Aquarium is absolutely one of the BEST aquariums in the world. Don't miss it when you're visiting Monterey, California.
see the sea horses and jellyfish!
If your hungry be sure to eat inside the restaurant and skip the regular old cafeteria!
bring earplugs so you don't have to listen to everyone's little broods of failure screaming at the top of their lungs. kids stink.
Check out the newly rennovated "Open Sea" exhibit. Beautiful jellies, sharks, mola molas and puffins!
Oddly romantic. Very moving. Wish they would have a kid-free day. Is that so wrong?
Visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium and see the amazing kelp forest, penguin show & the tidepools.
If you're visiting San Francisco, don't forget to visit the Monterey Peninsula and see the beauty of Monterey, Carmel, and Big Sur.
The Seahorse and Flamingo/Climate Warming exhibits are great! Lots of great activities for children throughout the whole place.
Don't try to drown children in the bat ray touch pools. There is a little freshwater tank around the corner that's much better for that.
To find out when the Otters get fed you can use your phone and text 'feeding' to 56512 to receive text alerts about unscheduled feedings and other exciting stuff throughout the day!
Please turn your flash off, it will harm the sea life.
Bring your girlfriend to the jellyfish tanks! Romantic mixed with nerd coolness.
I love the Aquarium!
Be sure to check out their newest exhibit the "Open Sea" which features sharks, jellies and puffins!
The outer bay exhibit is awesome!
Go here and check out the marine life!
This is the greatest place on earth.
Come see me perform shows on the Great Tide Pool Deck!
Impressive aquariam but the upstairs is too childish. Decent way to spend the afternoon, but a bit pricey
One of the most amazing things I've seen in my life.
Come to the nice restaurant hidden behind the cafe.
Go early to avoid being run over by strollers! And don't forget to pet the bat rays!
Make sure to stop and pet the bat rays, they are so friendly!
Do the special feeding tour. Amazing and no crowds.
Sit upstairs to relax and enjoy the outer bay exhibit
Get a membership, it's very worth it!
It's so amazing you especially the jellyfish you could draw your own jelly fish and it will swim on the projector but I drew a tiger scuba diving
Don't go on Saturday
'Twas well worth a visit again a few years ago--and actually less expensive to join as members for a family of eight from out of state to gain admission--for a day filled with wonder and awe to enjoy!
Sign up for their text alerts. They will notify you about wildlife sightings. We saw whales and dolphins from the observation deck. Awesome!
There are giant crowds, but the cafe sells beer and wine to take the edge off. Oh yeah, the jellyfish are really neat.
Underwater Explorers is a must for first timers! It's $95 but its so worth it!!! Kids ages 8-13 get to swim & touch purple urchins, tube anemone, abalone & any more for 1.5 hour! Amazing experience!
There is only one feeding at The Open Water exhibit at 11am. Get a seat at 10:45am. Amazing.
Need to check out the penguin and jellyfish exhibit
If you go to the kelp forest feeding and you want to watch from the area on the floor you will be asked to sit in the floor. It may be difficult for some to get up afterwards.
This place needs a bar.
too child friendly
Something different every time we visit. The rescued otter pups are adorable. Do the behind-the-scenes tour if you have the chance!
Best aquarium ever
An excellent aquarium! On the day of your visit text "feeding" to 56512 and you'll receive a few texts during the day about unscheduled animal feedings.
