The Monument Café is a locally owned and operated restaurant designed to be reminiscent of the Texas roadside cafes of the 1920's to the 1940's. We serve only fresh meats, vegetables and desserts. Everything we serve is cooked and prepared in the restaurant by our employees. We buy as many of our vegetables as possible from local farmers as well as raise several vegetables and spices in our own garden. Our meats are free of hormones, antibiotics, steroids, and animal byproducts. We serve Horizon and Organic Valley dairy products as well as free-range yard eggs. We want you to have a great meal, friendly and professional service, and to leave the restaurant feeling that you received value for your money and wanting to return.
Very rude service and long waits for food that isn't worth it anymore. I miss the old location and staff.
Chocolate pie!!! ❤️❤️❤️
A must! Lemonade was so refreshing
Get the daily special, no matter what it is.
House made, fresh squeezed Lemonade was worth the $5.
Anything art deco is my favorite. The food is good, too!
This place did a great job giving the atmosphere of an old diner. Chicken fried steak is awesome. Not a far walk from the downtown shops and the blue hole park.
Good Organic food. Good service. Good atmosphere. You will enjoy it. Try the pie! Outstanding dessert.
Get the Cinnamon Roll $5
Lotsa gluten free options. Even onion rings and fried chicken. Just ask!
The food here is amazing! Sometimes there is a wait for your food but other than that this is my favorite place for breakfast and brunch.
Chili Cheeseburger is totally awesome! We have eaten here several times. And our waitress was an angel, she has wings to prove it!
A little disappointed they couldn't get eggs over easy right. Also did not bring me the OJ I ordered with my breakfast. When paying 10 bucks for 2 eggs you would hope it was done right.
One of the okayest experiences I've had with amazing food
Little pricey but doable. Pancakes are good. King ranch casserole was amazing. If it is your first visit you get a free piece of pie. We'd do it again. Service is a little slow. Monument pie AMAZING!
Some menu changes recently. Quality and service are still great.
Pork Chop and Zucchini Medley
Came in tonight for daughters 18th bday dinner per her request. Seriously disappointed! Why change what's not broken? Food was terrible! Won't be back!
NEVER arrive after 7pm on Friday night as the staff is fully phoning it in and the quality drops SIGNIFICANTLY. Overpriced with bad service on May 2nd 2014. Will never return.
Was disappointed in Chicken Fried Stake. Very tough. Didn't have side order I wanted
Get here early; they had run out of all of their specials in an hour...
Building is abandoned. Guess they shut down. If they moved, they should update their social media sites.
The pancakes are huge, and the juice is freshly squeezed.
The strawberry lemonaide is delicious.
Great homestyle food with an old-school cafe style. Definitely recommend the key lime pie with a nice cup of house coffee.
They are knowledgable about gluten and have options including gluten free buns! Ask for Donna, she's a sweetheart.
For breakfast u can ask them to make pancakes however u want. Try the chocolate chip pecan a la mode. It's amazing!
I got eggs Benedict&it was gr8. I was expecting slow service bc of all the past posts but they were pretty quick (we came at brunch) U do get a free piece of pie for 1st timers but u have 2 mention it
This cafe is the worst-kept secret in Georgetown. Near downtown Georgetown, it is always humming. Enjoy the biscuits they bring out, and try the liver-and-onions or turkey sandwich.
I love this place but I feel like my food is always forgotten and I have to ask multiple times for it. Other than that, I love this place.
Menu changed rather dramatically. Daily chalkboard specials are gone. Change sucks!
Chicken Fried Chicken + Chocolate Pie = Foodie XTC
It's true !!!! If its ur first time here you do get free pie! And they have addictive gluten free chips as well as paid attention to my food Allergy!
Try the Crispy Waffle With Bacon - Delightful.
Just blocks away from the square are the legendary Monument Cafe for homecooking and El Monumento for delectable interior Mexican.
Ooo! hostess said you get a free dessert if it's your first time here!
All the posts are right about how slow they are and their not even busy
The eggs benedict are good
Great chicken-fried steak! BUT worst service team ever! Left with everything comped, the kitchen messed up so bad. Manager actually ran away from us when confronted. Not worth the drive from Austin.
Best breakfast ever!
Two words. Onion rings.
Great selection of Texas micro brews too!
Slow service, it's really bad, I thought when other people wrote about it, I thought they were just picky people, but now I know the truth and it is
Have the chocolate pie
This place was featured on Diners Drive-ins and Dives and it is great!! Try their orange juice and their pancakes are huge. Haven't had anything bad here!!
The Chocolate Pie. Every time.
This place is absolutely the most awesome place to eat. Everything was homemade down to the pie. Our server was a sweetheart and kept us constantly in tea and coffee.
