Morning runs 5am -7am ish are great! Afternoon work outs at the adult work out section is full of kids and night time work outs are not bad. Running at night is a toss up with all the games going on.

If you get to 14th street, you can either go right for a nice run along the river with parks and a track course. Or go left toward 34th, more hills and steps, a great work out.

Olympic-size pool (50m!) is the best in town. Always has all lanes open; even when it's set to 25M, never too crowded. Depth(13 ft?), cool temp makes it ideal for serious swimming/training/racing
Driving range is down by the first tee. You have to buy tokens at the pro shop. Take an extra club on the 3rd hole, everyone leaves it short, and there's no danger on the back of the green.

Summit Rock is the highest natural elevation in the park. Peaking at 137.5, it stands just a few feet above Vista Rock, home of Belvedere Castle.
Those sparkly slabs of stone on the hiking trails are garnet and mica encrusted Manhattan schist, bedrock on which the NYC skyscrapers rest.
Great place to go ice skating or just take a nice walk... The foliage is very pretty in the Spring.
Off leash hours 5am-9am and 9pm- 1am. This is an amazing experience. There's nothing quite like it anywhere. Doggie heaven!

Canal Street may have the commerce but this park has Chinatown's community. Stroll through the north end with its Mahjong and card players musicians, and old folks just sitting and chatting. Awesome.

From 1883-1891 this was the stadium of the Brooklyn Ball Club, who evolved into the Dodgers. The stadium stretched from 3rd St. to 5th St., between 4th & 5th Aves.

This Dutch colonial farmhouse is the oldest remaining farmhouse in Manhattan and a reminder of NYC's rural past. Built by Dutch farmer William Dyckman, c. 1784, it opened as a museum in 1916.
Enter the park from 83rd st. and climb the rock to the right. This is where E.A. Poe used to sit & look at the Hudson. True, you can't see the river from that spot anymore (trees) but who cares? Poe!
Take a walk around this amazing neighborhood. Facing the park is St. George's Episcopal Church, one of the finest examples of Romanesque Revival Architecture in the US. OR just listen to the birds.
