1. Aéroport Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG)
Steven Androphy: Everyone says that European airports are far superior to their American counterparts, but CDG defies the stereotype. Connect somewhere else.
2. Little Serow
Steven Androphy: Bring someone to wait with you in line (preferably someone who loves spicy) and you're sure to have a great dining experience. The servers are super helpful and friendly, too.
3. Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT)
Steven Androphy: A modern and efficient airport. If you're hungry, head to the atrium for pretty good BBQ at Brookwood Farms.
4. National September 11 Memorial & Museum
Steven Androphy: An extremely moving (and crowded) museum. Buy your tickets online beforehand and don't be afraid to spend as long as you need inside--I recommend at least 3 hours.
5. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL)
Steven Androphy: Did someone say little children and grandmas?
6. Aeropuerto Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas (MAD)
Steven Androphy: If you're coming to Barajas by metro and flying out of Terminal 1, be prepared to walk about 15-20 minutes just to ticketing.
7. Thai Tada
Steven Androphy: Not worth it. The food is overpriced and the quality of most dishes doesn't compare to Thai Luang just a couple miles down Elden.
8. Ohiopyle Bakery & Sandwich Shoppe
Steven Androphy: Great sandwiches and desserts, as well as really friendly staff--highly recommended for a cheap, pleasant bite to eat either before or after Fallingwater.
9. Miód Malina
Steven Androphy: The fermented rye soup (while it sounds incredibly unappetizing) was actually one of the best soups I've ever tried. They have great pierogi too, and a nice homey atmosphere.
Steven Androphy: The best ice cream in Nice! The speculoos was spectacular, but I'm sure all of the other flavors would be just as good.
11. Vietnam Veterans Memorial
Steven Androphy: Keep your voice down, control your children and walk by the wall in awe. Also, if it's raining or the ground is still wet, the walkway can get pretty slippery.
Steven Androphy: Brussels sprouts, panzanella, octopus, pepperoni sauce were all fantastic. Best to come during a Caps game, worst to come before or after a Caps game.
13. Rüstem Paşa Camii
Steven Androphy: My favorite mosque in the city, don't miss it! It wasn't crowded with tourists like the Blue Mosque or New Mosque, and the tiles inside were breathtaking.
14. Founding Farmers
Steven Androphy: Breakfast was pretty good (likely your best bet in the area on a weekend), although the time on the reservation doesn't seem to equate to the time you get seated.
15. Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau
Steven Androphy: A visit to Auschwitz/Birkenau is something that you must do before you die, it is truly moving. It is only an hour from Kraków by car, and should be a top priority to visit.
16. The Red Hen
Steven Androphy: Tough to get reservations now that it's so popular but it's well worth the trip. Chicken liver mousse, burrata, and short ribs were all fantastic.
Steven Androphy: The palak chaat was amazing, but beware: you'll want to order a second one when you're finished.
18. Ambiente Pasta Fresca
Steven Androphy: All the pastas were delicious and at great prices, but you definitely must get the gnocchi with black truffle and truffle butter: a truffle lover's heaven!
19. Izakaya Seki
Steven Androphy: The quality of the fish on the sashimi omakase was fantastic. Make sure to take advantage of the 3 for $11 vegetable sides too.
20. Ruan Thai
Steven Androphy: The yum watercress salad alone makes it worth a long drive. They have great duck and drunken noodles as well.
Steven Androphy: You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but I definitely recommend the garrotxa cheese with garlic dulce de leche, the albóndigas and grilled chorizo or octopus.
22. Rice Paper
Steven Androphy: Pretty crowded and you'll probably have to wait, but the food is worth it. Try the lime-cured beef salad and the caramelized short ribs.
23. Toki Underground
Steven Androphy: Went around 2pm on a Monday and had no wait. Pickle plate, dumplings (get them steamed), Taipei curry chicken, and kimchi were all outstanding.
24. Aeropuerto de Bilbao (BIO)
Steven Androphy: Interesting design, not crowded, easy access to Moyúa or Termibus with Bizkaibus--a respectable airport.
25. Sea Pearl
Steven Androphy: Awesome dinner here, everything was delicious and service was really friendly and attentive. Try the lamb shank, it was outstanding!
26. Topkapı Sarayı
Steven Androphy: Make sure to get there early, and definitely buy tickets for the Harem. It's only 15 lira extra, but was the best part of the palace (besides the view).
27. Side Street & Sushi Bar by I - Thai
Steven Androphy: They have a great lunch buffet, and their larb is one of the better ones I've tried in NoVA.
28. Delhi Belhi
Steven Androphy: Even though it's in a hard-to-find alleyway, you must try this place! The samosa was absolutely delicious, the curries were flavorful, and the service was very friendly.
29. Washington Dulles International Airport
Steven Androphy: If you're flying out of C, D, or Z and have some time, take the train to A or B for better food/shopping options.
30. L'Atelier Jean Luc Pelé
Steven Androphy: Walk straight forward out of the train station and you'll find this wonderful bakery. Make sure to try a Nutella macaron: it was the best macaron I had while in France!
