- Don't go straight to the wetherspoons for breakfast... Walk to the right of it through a corridor and you find the Bridge bar and restaurant. Much nicer and much quieter.
- What a totally ridiculous new layout. Winding lane of shops to go through just after security. People stopping and tripping over each other. You should have left it as it was!
- Artur LeonelSeptember 3, 2018Very busy airport. Must get there with good anticipation. They have a good place to eat with several options.
- The Illustrius bar is in a quiet place, near gate 44. They serve a pretty decent Guinness. Recommended if you want to escape from the noise of the central hall, after security check.
- In a rush? Pay £5 or €6 for fast track security at door 1. It's by no means fast but it's still quicker than waiting in a queue of hundreds!
- M KMay 20, 2012Be sure to leave extra time to get through security. Liquids 100mls and less must be placed in a 20cmx20cm resealable bag and kept out of your bag separately.
- Philip HarknettAugust 16, 2013Happy to use Caffé Italia. Away from the main concourse, so much quieter. Great service & for the price, good valuee food! !
- Marc C. LangeFebruary 27, 2014Def. take the national express buses, and not the ones by Terravision. NE has free WIFI and nice personnel while TV just keeps messing it up, and is unapologetic. Missing appointments because of them
- The new self bag drop is super quick. Took max 10 minutes to drop the bag.
- Bilal Al MokaddemMay 12, 2018We landed on time and immigration was fast but we had to wait 55 minutes to know on which belt our Baggage will come. That is disappointing at nice airports like Stansted.
- As of August 2014, security is much improved & queues are much shorter. Plus you can be dropped off and picked up outside the terminal, rather than downstairs
- Leonel SilvaAugust 14, 2014Try Bridge - Nice semi hidden pub after you cross the main hall and turn right. Nice breakfasts and pub food
- Phil MarshallMay 4, 2013Dropping people off by car? Follow signs for express set down, then you pay £2 at the exit. There's a change machine but you can pay by card! Free set down is at a car park a short free bus ride away
- Kriss LOctober 10, 2014Very crowdy place so after landing always think about 1-2 hours of waiting at passport control. use self service terminals on the left if you have biometric passport
- Still a largely unpleasant flying experience from Stansted. Parking is expensive and everyone is squeezed into one terminal, when busy involves queues and most expense. No fun really.
- Escape Lounge excellent But definitely needs Power sockets at each table. Trains to gates 1-39 often Short and do Not match all the entry Doors.
- The FastTrack security option, at £7 pp, is a life saver for post COVID travel.
- Daniel HajdukMay 24, 2016The airport is way too crowded, queues for controls are too long . Duty free is awesome, there's definitely all you need . Free toilets, free (slow) wifi .
- Peter JohnsonJune 12, 2014When you foolishly forget to print your boarding pass again & Ryanair is demanding your first born child; head down to isle A and print it for £1 per hour & £1 per page at the computer kiosk.
- Maco GonzalezSeptember 14, 2014If you want to escape from all the stress go to gates 40/59. Places to seat there and you don't have to take the train to get to them
- This is a modern quite simple functional airport. Right now is undergoing through some renovations so the main waiting area is very crowded so i advise to buy whatever yo have to buy and go directly
- Alina FeldmanOctober 15, 2013If you travel with kid you must have the special baby bottle in order to be able to take with you water on board.
- Max WilsonNovember 30, 2015Don't eat here. Eat at the Ash Pub, 10mins drive round back of airport. Amazing food. Good prices. Own beer.
- Always go to the security check in to the extreme right next to fast track
- Dominic RossAugust 17, 2014Everything has been changed round so that it looks very different. If you haven't been for a while, look at a map on the Stansted website.
- Jason QuarisaOctober 12, 2017Security is strict so be prepared. Lots of food and bar options. Modern and clean airport.
- Dimitris KotsiosDecember 12, 2014This airport is not so good ! Only 1 hr. wifi! There are many people sleeping there but they can't sleep because there are no chairs or place to sit! The cheapest way to go to the center is easybus!
- SamSeptember 16, 2014£3.50 for fasttrack security (from the parking booking website) seems like a bargain when you see the queues at 6am!
- The security wall has moved so ponti's is now after security. No one can find it yet though so it's a nice quiet place to sit!
- Adam QRAugust 17, 2014You can park, collect your pickup and depart from the red zone car park in less than 25-minutes. Don't bother with the expensive pickup zone.
- if you are early and looking for quite place follow the 81-88 gates sign.
- Skip the first WH Smith cause of the queues. There's plenty just past duty free!
- If you like shopping, this is great. But plan in enough time to go to gates as you are guided along all shops, wasting a lot of time #stansted#inefficient#
- eDreamsApril 16, 2012After security check head to Pret A Manger where where you can enjoy a coffee as you watch the planes land and take off through the giant windows.
- PaixãoNovember 19, 2018Easybus website is the cheapest option to go to London Liverpool... They sell tickets of Airport Bus company for less than their website.
- Cate TJanuary 29, 2015Don't spend £1 on mini plastic bags... Scan your boarding pass and go through the gates, and they'll give you some for free when you get into the security queue
- fdrDecember 24, 2014there is a mini pop-up starbucks van on the way to the toilets if you want to avoid queuing for a long time at the big starbucks store
- Rafael ReedJune 12, 2017Good option just plan your train service with time, it takes about an hour to arrive at London City Center.
- Paul MorrisMarch 14, 2013You can only use 2 clear bags for liquids even though dispensers sell in 4's. Stansted seem to have their own ruling on liquids over and above the EU directive of 1ltr in 100ml bottles!
- Daniel O'FlahertyOctober 2, 2017Very good airport but as is the same with every airport it is incredibly crowded at times!
- Aga K.March 17, 2015Very long queues to the incoming EU border in the morning! Take it into consideration when booking a transfer to London because we waited 40mins for checking documents and nearly missed our bus!
- Decent airport with lots of shops and choices to eat. Total con that you have to pay £3.50 for up to 10 mins drop off!
- Patricia WolmerFebruary 9, 2011If you're planning to spend the night to catch an early flight, be sure to arrive around 10pm, otherwise all the good seats to sleep on will have already been taken!
- Modern airport but it’s a giant ugly warehouse which can be quite difficult to find your way around and is chronically understaffed.
- Andrew ClarkDecember 15, 2014Get there even earlier than you think you need to. The queues through security are always huge.
- There's computers with printer in several places around the checkins to print boarding passes. Takes £2 of coins—pricier but no mucking around for a copy shop/net cafe in town, especially on Sunday!
- Very nice and easy routes out of the airport! Baggage reclaim is quick too
- Nice airport, fast security and good range of cafes and shops
- Luke MarshSeptember 25, 2014Very modern and quick check in process of you have printed your own boarding pass 👌
- I have mixed feelings about this airport. Yes, it is the cheapest one to get to London (Ryanair), but it is annoying that the Oyster Card doesn’t do the trick for the public transport.
