The giant pretzel with liptauer cheese is fun and yum, but the smoked whitefish palateschinken is truly special. Also good schnitzels.
Fantastic Austrian/German cuisine in an underdeveloped part of this neighborhood. Friendly staff, good prices.
Pretzel w/ mustard & cheese spread is the best I have personally had in NYC. Meat dishes are tender w/ homemade sour kraut, beers in tap are diverse. A sorely needed new edition to the neighborhood.

The salad is great b/c it's not drowning in mayonnaise (a fate that often befalls whitefish salad). The bagels are "Montreal-style" which means slightly smaller (I don't mind) and less salty (I mind).
