Make a point to visit the upper floors of the castle (only accessible by narrow winding stairs) and enjoy the best views of the park from the park. Call ahead to check if they’re open.

The view south from the northern edge of the reservoir is my favorite in Manhattan. Sunset are cool from the east edge too!

Can't bring your dog on the trail that overlooks the lake; a little lame bc park time is usually an experience shared with a canine friend, but you can still see the gorgeous city views on all trails.
Loved the modern art exhibit. Egypt, the Bizantine and the American Wing are a MUST. Go to the rooftop to enjoy a great view of Central Park and Manhattan's Skyline. AMAZING.
Went with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. The modern art, tribal art, and antique furniture sections were particularly interesting. Don't miss the view from the newly opened rooftop!!
BEST MUSEUM EVER. Even though you can't view everything properly in just one day, it's amazing to browse between galleries. And the building itself is wonderful!
Great to experience as often as you can. So much to do and see. Great music, people watching, and walking in nature. Be sure to do a carriage ride, very relaxing, educational & scenic.
I love CP. One of my favorites places in NY... picnic, ride a bike, go in the small lake with the boats, enjoy the music or the view of NY.

Circle the Onassis reservoir. Beside to stop and take in the skyline from the north shore: the tip of the empire state building, views across the water to central park west... The place has it all.

Great place to lounge on the grass, soak up some sun, and people watch! Nice view of the Belvedere Castle, too. Just watch out for any incoming baseballs, footballs, and frisbees.

Best place to go out for a run in New York! The full-loop is about 9.5km, and be prepared for some hills! Very good workout and beautiful view :)
Hands down the best 6.1 mile loop in New York City. Rival for best city run in the world in my book. Full of great views, people, and beautiful park. Harlem Hill is a proper climb.
The area offers romantic vacation views of the New York skyline and is especially attractive in the spring with blooming azaleas, Virginia bluebells, Dutchman's breeches, and daffodils.
"That Guitar Man" David Ippolito plays his guitar while we, "The People on the Hill", sing along and enjoy the view almost every Saturday May till September.
Hernshead was restored in 1988 by Central Park Conservancy. You could also appreciate planted and beautiful seasonal flowers.
