Look for ducklings in the spring. The path by the pond is tranquil and relaxing, especially if you've been bumping elbows at the zoo or nature museum.
The second best pond in Chicago. A great variety of birds and foliage greet you on the laps you run around this place.

Chicago's beautiful South Pond. A wonderful place for a stroll to see turtles, bluegill, herons, and ducks. It really bursts to life in the summer.
One of my favorite spots in Chicago. I take a lot of walks through this boardwalk. It's a good place to collect my thoughts, meditate, check out amazing views of Chicago, and soak up the sun.
A Park worker told me the composite boards get very HOT ... especially on days with no cloud cover ... so avoid walking your dog here on very hot sunny days to protect his paws.
A wonderfully, beautiful pond hidden away. It shows off examples of prairie-style architecture designed by its namesake.
The Lily Pool officially opens for the season on Sat., April 21. Free docent tours are available Fridays 1 - 4pm, Saturdays 9am - noon & 1 - 4pm, Sundays 1 - 4pm; starting every hour & half hour.

Please don't feed the animals, especially the waterfowl -- they'll get too fat to fly and won't be able migrate. Seriously. It's harmful to their health.

Some of the best service I've ever had! Everyone was so friendly! Gorgeous interior. Loved the On Tap Pinot Noir and the rolled eggplant app. Can't wait to come back when we are hungrier!
