Robert Smith: As you go from gallery to gallery you will be constantly amazed. This museum is a true gem. Self guided tours, docents to help you and of course, the Rivera Industrial murals.
Greg Briggs: A fantastic art gallery. It displays art and provides signage in a way that helps you savor art even if you aren't educated in art appreciation or history.

Ben Spedoske: If you haven't been in years, you need to come. The recent renovation is awesome. Lots more to see. Really well done exhibits. Streets of Old Detroit, as always, is a must-see.
HISTORY: Founded in 1921, the museum was known as "Detroit's best kept secret." They receive more than 250,000 visitors annually and showcase more than 300 years of Detroit's history.

Sailor: Been coming here since I was a kid in Midtown. I think the biggest impact is where they put the stages each year for crowd control and the food, i'd love to see more vendors selling street food!
