Mark Bramhill: Hands down the best bookstore in Houston. Deeply invested in the local literary scene, they host readings and events constantly. One of my favorite parts of Houston.
CultureMap Houston Manager: The bookstore is considered so important to Houston's literary scene that when founder Karl Killian decided to sell Brazos in 2006, a consortium of Houston book lovers chipped in to purchase it.
The Wall Street Journal: Grab a copy of "Houston. It's Worth It," a photographic tribute by locals to their beloved, if sometimes maligned, city. Read more.

Vlad Davidiuk: Great selection, almost always open. The owner knows his shelves really well. Friendly, reasonable prices and plenty of spots to take a quick sit.
Lewis Kinard: Try Kaboom before you go online. One call can save you time!

Bob Hicks: Love having a real bookstore nearby.Nice atmosphere.
Tammy Moore: If you live close-by, ride your bike to the store. Then enjoy the a/c, Starbucks and a delicious snack (like the Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake - my favorite!) while taking a break from the heat!
🍒Karmela Ocampo: Can't use the plugs anymore it's locked :( sucks!
Jennifer Shumate: Love this place! Staff is super friendly, and you can get a free cup of Keurig coffee. I have a fair amount of used book credit, and I just walked out with 3 books for $7.
Consuela G.: The best thing to do is create used book credit. This makes for a better shopping experience. The Semi annual sale is the greatest!!! Hardbacks $1 and paperbacks from 25 to 75 cents. Love it!
Jon Terry: Unimpressive. No clearance, no horror, no travel, weak on classics, worst history section I've ever seen. And it's a maze. No posted guide to pricing. Complicated credit system.
