HISTORY UK: Tate Britain is built on the site of the 19th century Millbank Prison. Between 1816 and 1868, this is where thousands of convicts began their journey to the penal colonies of Australia.
Louis Vuitton: Late Nights: Explore art after hours the first Friday of every month. With access to the exhibitions, performances, and talks there is no better way to visit the Tate without all the crowds.

HISTORY UK: The Bankside Power Station was built as a ‘cathedral of power’ in 1963, but closed in 1981. It reopened as one of Europe’s finest modern art galleries in 2000. The Turbine Hall is 35m high.
Louis Vuitton: The Tate boat, decorated by coloured spots inspired by Damien Hirst, travels every 40 minutes from Tate Modern - the world's most visited art gallery in its renovated power station - to Tate Britain.
Mia B: Give yourself plenty of time. It's an amazing collection of historic and modern collections. The building itself is also lovely. And all for free!
HISTORY UK: The V&A is the world’s largest museum of decorative art and design and holds 4.5 million objects. Henry Cole, the museum’s first director, printed the world’s first Christmas card in 1843.
Londonist: Want to see Christ's ass? There's a surreal model of Jesus on a donkey down in the basement level of the Medieval galleries.
