Mazda: Outside the arena are statues of Wayne Gretzky and Magic Johnson, although both sports legends played at The Forum, where the Kings, Lakers and Sparks previously played.
West Virginia University: Check out the statue of basketball icon Jerry West. He has left his mark as a Laker, an Olympian, a West Virginia University Mountaineer, and as the silhouette of the NBA logo. Pretty impressive.
ESPN: Wayne Gretzky never played here as a King, but his presence still lingers in the building. There’s a #99 sweater hanging from the rafters AND a Great One statue outside.
Mary Ellen Schrock: For an unique photo op, visit the sculpture garden in Star Plaza at Staples Center during an LA Kings home game. Each statue is adorned with a Kings' black jersey, including Kareem's, to welcome fans.
Curbed: For the art-loving sports fan or the sports-loving arts fan, this statue joined the small group of statues outside Staples last year. You can also see Magic Johnson, Jerry West, & Oscar de la Hoya. Read more.
Ece: Hail to the king :)
Jeremy Acord: Come by when the lights are on! Yellow floodlights from all sides make the statue appear gold rather than its actual polished black.
Joseph C: The heart of Venice. Drive safe, lots of cops. Wish something better was done with the roundabout area like some lights or more of a park setting or community garden instead of that boat & statue.
Alexandra E.: Quirky local spot in Venice with bars, restaurants and businesses. Gets pretty lively especially on weekends.
Shannon O'Neill: They filmed Rebels without a Cause there! Check out the James Dean statue with the Hollywood sign behind him. Get photo!
Jake Smith: Go right at sunset, and check out the cool sundial behind the statue in the front of the building.
Hamdi Ben Lagha: Favorite place in LA, amazing view, free entrance.

OMGICU: The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is the largest art museum in the western US, or so they say. What they don't tell you is that you can follow Justin Timberlake around when you tire of old statues.
nikki: stellar outdoor installations are open to the public, while thoughtful exhibitions in the Resnick and other buildings keep things fresh. Must visit website for upcoming rotations.
Heath Row: Hug the sloth statue outside.
George Dear: Visited the Tar Pits and LACMA many times! For about a year the mooring for the Mastadon sculpture was broken so the elephant statue would drift in the tar tip pool outside the museum.
AD Nys: The family move: Get here before LACMA opens (plenty of street parking), run around the grounds, tumble down the hill, bring bikes + a picnic, then hit the museum before naptime. Solid LA day.
