Best Japanese restaurant in melbourne! Platers and degastation are well worth the price. And do try the plum wine on the rocks or with soda!
Plum wine was delicious. No complaints on the food at all except the pricing - be ready to fork out an above average amount. The sea urchin cheesecake was ordinary - couldn't taste the urchins lol.
Great customer service and wonderful, well designed degustation menu. Highlight for me is the sashimi in a ice globe!
Kugelhopf for sure; the cheesecake's also pretty good and much lighter than it looks. But the plum cake's just won my heart over. Light and tasty pastry, not too sweet, the plums feel fresh... Yum!
I love this cake shop the best out of the many alternatives around. It's homely feel, 100 year old recipe cheese cake and the many magazines of the past ages is a wonderful nostalgic experience

i love this place.. plus they have the bestest brand of wasabi peas.... munch on them while you sip some umeshu {plum wine} is my recommendation.... •^_^•

Great food - however service was an issue and there was too much gap between courses. They also charge a credit card transaction fee which is a bit rich.
They do offer half-portions for most of the mains :) a great way to sample more of Neil Perry's food

Great food, wine and service. The Pre-Theatre menus are particularly good - 2 courses and a glass of wine $45, 3 courses $55. Robert is a fantastic host and the food is always innovative and fresh.
