The category for Don Pepe's is wrong - it is not an Italian restaurant - it's Portuguese. The restaurant is great and a tradition whenever I go to a Devils game or to the NJ Performing Arts Center.

This is in Newark but it's only 10 minutes away from Belleville...I can honestly say they have the best sangria! I usually go to the bar area & always get the garlic shrimp appetizer...it's delicious!

having tried many Portuguese restaurants, Im hardly ever impressed but this was GREAT!. Butter was soft, waiters attentive, sangria thick & delish, dessert to salivate for MAIN DISH WAS CRAVE WORTHY
Place is nice, staff is nice as well, but the bottom line is the food isn't good at all. Save your money and go elsewhere. There's plenty of Portuguese restaurants in Newark.

Get the rodizio, the endless river of meat. The spare ribs and meats wrapped in bacon are particularly good.
