Christina Cacioppo: so. many. dumplings. the better one's are in the basement food court, not the upstairs version.
Aaron Beppu: tip : the basement (with some of the best restaurants) is accessed via a stairwell from the street to the right of the main entrance and "Golden Shopping Mall" sign.
Michael Calleia: Go in the basement food court for some amazing food. Cheap, fast and good. These stalls are so much better than any food truck in the city!
Jorge Ortiz: Dosas in the basement of a Hindu temple. Get something starchy, something spicy, and something sweet (mango kulfi!). Pass a serene moment in the temple upstairs afterwards.
Serious Eats: The basement canteen at this temple makes New York's best dosas and some excellent homestyle south Indian food. All vegetarian, all very cheap.
Ezra Pollard: Friendly, unique and delicious w/ must eat dosa. (Tucked away in the basement of a temple)

Cole Kennedy: The Basement is a very good place to go and dance and pretend like you’re an extra in one of the cool John Wick nightclub fight scenes.
Chitra Agrawal: this space is incredible, old glass factory now turned into an arts center with super unique installations. Will be introducing food soon too!
Time Out New York: When Tiki Disco began in the backyard of Roberta’s, it was for those in the know. Now, it draws huge crowds to the Knockdown Center—an ex-factory and courtyard in the Queens-Brooklyn border badlands. Read more.
Serious Eats: Home to some of the most unique dumplings in the city. Excellent vegetarian dumplings filled with garlic chives and egg; lamb and green squash are a must. In the Golden Shopping Mall basement.
PureWow: If you can find this teensy stall in the basement of the Golden Mall, you’ll be rewarded with choose-your-own-filling dumplings featuring ingredients like Chinese sausage, sea bass and bamboo shoots. Read more.
Mario Tang: My favorite spot for dumplings steam buns fried scallion cakes and tea eggs
Doug Tabuchi: More space then BKB Gowanas, more community events than the Cliffs. Workout area in the basement is great if you also want to lift or throw some kettlebells around. Showers and Sauna for after.
Steph Schneider: Good and varied routes for both experienced and beginners. More easy routes than other gyms.
Nitzan B: Tons of fun! The place is huge and also has a gym, showers, lockers, sauna. Really cool.

a: A nice underground club, but the basement stinks of sewer. Barman when I went was very nice. Non-alcoholic drink options are good.
Anastasia Enot: I love this place so much! Good music, great crowd, darkness and no photos. What else could you possibly need?
Afi Yellow-Duke: the cover was a little high when i went last night, but the space is cool and the music was grrrreat

Jorge Chinchilla: Awesome place! Very nice rooms, bathroom and showers in each room, a block away from the Metro, highly recommended.
Charlie Garcia: Nice hotel with food too
loran jonak: Great frozen dumplings in the basement.
Russell Hirschorn: AMAZING food here. Dumplings in the corner are deeelish. Lamb was our favorite. And the szechuan place where you choose your ingredients is EXCELLENT
Serious Eats: Massive, energetic food court popular with Flushing's younger eaters. Stalls are more glitzy here, and while we don't love everything, a few stand out well.

Italian Restaurant · Astoria · 63 tips and reviews
jon accarrino: If you can't pay your bill, they make you chop wood for the pizza oven in the basement.
Chad Marra: Final verdict/tip: The Sicilian with pepperoni is my favorite, followed by Mama's Style. Get Mama's (or any normal crust pie) crispy if you don't want it to go limp.
Matt Cherette: Sac's is my favorite restaurant in Astoria. The pizza is second-to-none (I order mine well-done), as are the homemade pastas and gnocchi (Mama's lasagna!), the asparagus and prosciutto, and much more!
