The essential places to visit in Lincoln during Freshers' Week and beyond, from on-campus to exploring the city.
1. Minerva Building
University of Lincoln: Grab everything from sandwiches, coffee, pastries, hot meals and more either to sit down and enjoy or just whilst running through at the Atrium cafeteria.
2. Sports Centre
University of Lincoln: Enrolment of new students takes place at the Sports Centre. Remember your paperwork!
3. GCW Library
University of Lincoln: The Library staff can help you get started with your University computer account, from signing in to timetables, printing and more.
4. Engine Shed
University of Lincoln: The Engine Shed houses some of the best of Freshers' Week, from the Freshers' Fayres to live music and more.
5. Brayford Wharf East Level Crossing
University of Lincoln: One of Lincoln's notorious level crossings. Don't try run the barriers if they're closed – the trains won't stop for you. Have a look at some of the resident swans and ducks on the river instead.
6. Brayford Wharf
University of Lincoln: The Brayford waterfront is right opposite the University of Lincoln, and offers a range of restaurants serving cuisines from across the world as well as a cinema.
7. High Bridge
University of Lincoln: High Bridge is at the heart of Lincoln's High Street, right in the middle of amazing shopping and delicious food.
8. Steep Hill
University of Lincoln: The name Steep Hill is well deserved, but the hill and the surrounding streets are packed with some of the best shopping in Lincoln.
9. Castle Square
University of Lincoln: Between the Castle and the Cathedral at the top of Steep Hill, this is the place to start looking around historic Lincoln.
10. Lincoln Cathedral
Ben Rook: Take a roof tour of the Cathedral. They're available most days and don't cost much, but they take you to places you'd never normally see. But not really suitable for those scared of heights!
11. Lincoln Castle
University of Lincoln: Lincoln Castle is home of one of the four surviving original copies of the Magna Carta, as well as Lincoln's Crown Courts.
