Tables towards the back of the pub for the River Thames side and some lovely views, but it does get chilly! Be sure to say, "Hello," to the lovely Geraldine and Frank who have been there for 15 years!
If you are local to the area and suffer from bad hayfever, pop into the gift shop for an excellent range of local honey (produced in Isleworth).
If you're looking for somewhere to get passport photos, you're better off looking somewhere else. Absolutely not fit for purpose / appalling quality from the photo booth here and £5 for the privilege.
If you get here it is a bonus as London Underground usually struggle with the faux-middle-and-upper-class types holding up the trains in Zone 1.
Brilliant location to see wannabe middle class morons at their finest (and I'm not talking Underground staff either).
Very friendly owner and some great food for lunch (if you get lunch, you can get a pot of tea with it for $1). It's worth checking out their peaceful library too at the back of the café. A hidden gem!
Try and get a room overlooking Orchardtown Road if you can as it overlooks the quieter of the two streets that intersect at the junction. Dinner at the downstairs restaurant is fair, but pricey.
Folks who are returning a car here who have never been: Though the main office is on William St, you will need to get onto Yurong St and around to Riley St, where the return compound actually is.
When you get down the main path to the picnic area, take the stairway on the left down. You will reach a large rock on your left with an excellent on-the-edge-of-a-cliff top view. No barriers though!
Do not accept the imitations of British/Irish cuisine by the Aussies - come here to get some proper fare from people that know what they're doing. Sausages and mash done properly!
Try the chorizo or the lamb skewers - great sharing dishes and great taste.
