Great hearty, non-ketchupy pad thai and other cooked dishes. Meh salad and garden rolls.

Don't get the frozen yogurt here--it's bland and cloyingly sweet. Better to go to Yogen Fruz a few booths away

      Cineplex
      • Toronto, Canada

Poorly designed theater. The screening rooms have hardly any incline at all, leaving viewers at the mercy of anyone with a larger-than-normal head. Skip this one for the Cineplex on Richmond.

Bring hand sanitizer. Inspect thoroughly before purchase. Look through all the sizes for mis-sorted pieces. And don't get overwhelmed by all the sagging polyester--there are gems buried in there!

Take frugality to the next level with a large bowl of Northern-style wonton soup for $3.50. And try the tomato-egg soup and zhajiang mian (Chinese spaghetti) for an undiluted hit of the old country.

Who needs a liquor license with spicy salmon rolls this good? The go-to place for fresh, authentic, bite-sized sushi. Try also their chirashi don and seafood udon.

Delivers what you might expect from a Japanese restaurant in Chinatown: mediocre faux sushi for cheap. Go here if you like the cuisine of the Japanese as interpreted by the culture that hates them.

If only this building were half as soundproof as it is ugly. Don't live here unless you like waking up each night by the lively chorus of fire trucks, street sweepers and drunks plowing down Spadina.
