Take a walk through the garden, up to view the "Needle". Deep your toes in Iao stream on hot days, just be sure to heed all park safety signs.

Walk across bridge and past steps down to the left. Bear right and go down the back steps. After all the steps, the sidewalk flattens out. An “Area Closed” sign marks the trail Stay right at all forks

Read the signs near the restrooms for the map, read the signs at the top for phallic history, show a Hawai‘i ID for free parking, and read the Foursquare tips for the secret path.

Get your hike on! It's well worth it. Wear shoes that you don't mind getting a bit mucky. Otherwise, mud dried and comes off easily- just do the hike!
