Incredible location on top of a mountain overlooking the city. Time your visit after a rain shower or on a windy afternoon to guarantee a good view, otherwise the smog prevents seeing most anything.

As a mountain lover I just couldn't help falling in love with Suthep;) the temple on top also captured my heart, with its lovely heart-shaped decorations.

If you have the time, I'd avoid paying a taxi to take you from the city here and back again within 2h. Make it a day trip, perhaps hike up and then head for the waterfalls or other cool spots around.

This temple is an amazing one. at the top of the hill, is better if you take the elevator. the view from um there is incredible

I agree that this is a beautiful temple, but from all I heard I expected a little more. I've had the impression that this temple it's not really taken cared of as it should.

Tucked away in the mountains at 3,520 feet (1,056 meters). The temple is reached by a staircase with 300 steps, flanked by a NAGA balustrade on both sides.

Be prepared to spend the day here. There is so much to see and do. Whether you bike, hike or ride there is something for everyone.

Best view on the city. When the farmers burn their fields the air is dirty in the city so you won't be able to see very far. Don't bother going to the Hmong village it's useless nothing to see.

Better to prepare the plastic bag just in case you feel nausea :) the sour fruits can also relief the symptom.

You can either motorbike there, ride a bicycle to the zoo and take a ted taxi (40 Bath one way) to the temple or catch a red taxi at the north gate (60 Bath one way).

Take a song teow (sp?) to the Chiang Mai zoo. From there, take another song teow for 40 baht up to the temple.

Too crowded, too chaotic, too commercial. What used to be an incredible temple & must-do place to visit in Chiangmai is now a crass tourist trap. There are much better temples to visit close to town.
