Older architecture, nice to take photos. Would do that early in the morning before it's crowded.

If you're a foreigner, use the Foreigner ticket office inside. Be cautious of people stopping you at the station entry claiming to be staff.

Front row seats are reserved for monks. Luggage storage room stinks of pee. MRT subway is Hua Lamphong as well. Cross over to Srikrung Hotel across a small bridge for a decent tasty meal.

MUST DO: There's a KFC outlet near the food court. Buy a burger or fried chicken if you need something to eat while on the train.

A great way to visit Ayutthaya is to take a train from here. Get cheap, first class roundtrip for a day trip. The schedule is regular. The ride is scenic. Try dishes at the food court here w/ locals.

So much smoother this leg compared to hadyai to bkk. Lots of beer drinking in our car, very loud also. The staff finally explained to the loud passengers it is a sleeper train, not a party train. :-)

There are people around the station who ask where you go, ignore!!!! These people are trying to sell expensive bus tickets or want to take you to a travel agency. Always go directly to the counter.
