I don't get it. I was at the Silk Market and refused to believe that I was where everyone was talking about. It was a 5-floor, small mall. Pay exact prices to avoid counterfeit change.

    Lorne Brandt · July 2
  • Håkan F.

Not what it used to be..., all cheap copies are gone, replaced with better quality no brand items, and less good quality logo products

Tourist trap. Gelato stick is great for ice cream though! Must try

If they say 500 yuan, it is 20 yuan max. Or just leave. I was about to fuck a little girl who tried to cheat on me. She went crazy when she understand she wouldnt screw me. Little hairy bitch.

Don't believe "no bargain" stickers. You can bargain for everything. Set your targets before.

    Blaz Tomc · May 23
  • Romina P.

Not what I expected. All stores very very expensive , bags 2000 dollars. Stickers said"not allowed to bargain" i think this market changed!

It's like a mall, very elegant and you can pay with visa. Apparently no bergain anymore in this market, luxury products

    Romina Pacheco · May 17

Be prepared to haggle! The market has been done up in recent years, bathrooms are so much cleaner now and there is an massive food court. market looks more like a mall now, but prices have gone up.

Waste of time. It could be a great shopping spot if they didn't try to rip you off. Anyways if you're OK with bargaining (lots of bargaining) you should be fine here.

You can get Dre beats and Jordan's for low as $30.00 US dollars

Must bargain every time. Walk to the next shop if you think the price is too high. Eg: We bargained a wallet from CNY1200 (offered price) to CNY75.You need time to shop here due to bargaining process.

Don't expect to see any customer service here. Don't bargain if you don't want to buy. Else they will start cursing. Nevertheless, there are really some cheap stuffs if you don't mind imitation.

A lot of fake stuff and a lot of effort in shopping here. I usually take a long sit at the Pacific Coffee on the ground floor.

    Song Li · February 21

Bargain as bluntly as the shop keepers do. The food court on the top floor seems to need some bargaining too.

I missed bargaining before coming here

    Ahmet Cinar · January 3

You can pay 5%-30% of the offered price and the sellers will still make money. Haggling is a sport! It even happens in the food court upstairs!

One of famous touristy market in Beijing. Don't bargain IF you're not intend to buy otherwise you'll get fuck off by those rude sales personnel. Prices here marked up by 50% above. 08122014 北京 秀水街

Some great bargains to be had here. Store assistants are very pushy will try and intimidate you with raised voices and anger. Just ignore. The lower your starting price the lower you will end.

    Quinton Jones · December 8, 2014
  • Harumi U.

Some of the places, you just look and walk away and people still get angry and give you parting words. I think pearls are a value but I will not walk into bag shops and places like that

I found an amazing little shop called minn on the third floor. They have high quality silk and cashmere. It is nice to find real and 100% pure. I was sick of all fake. Prices do reflect this reality.

    Md Wong · July 11, 2014
  • Sherlyn

Start haggling with at least 20% of the original price. If they don't agree at first, try walking away. They might give a lower price. If they don't, you can try again at the next store.

The chopsticks are in the airport at 50¥ small ones and 100¥ bigger ones, both better quality... Do not pay more than that in the Silk market.
