People tend to check in during these times:
Such a dark place!
The chocolate stout on draught is rich and dense, exactly as you'd expect. It's a great way to cap off the night, if you're not too full already.
Charming, despite the poor air-conditioning and lack of lights/candles, or because of it? Numerous Belgian beers, and cool bartenders make up for any drawbacks. Quintessential NYC dive bar.
Extensive beer list, but most are in bottles. Very knowledgeable and non-judgy bartenders are happy to help you pick your brew.
A favorite and local bar. All beer, all night. Try the Gose!
A cool speakeasy style place, the door is easy to miss.
The bathroom smells like marijuana. So that's a thing, I guess.
Cool little underground nook. The bartender was nice and the crowd seemed alright, but this was a slower night (snow). Vol de Nuit might have better beer, though.
The Samuel Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout is life changing.
Great extensive beer selection
Come here for great music/beer. Cash only
This is the darkest cellar bar ever. On the wrong day it wouldn't work but on the right day, with the right weather and the right mood, it's divine. The beers here are top notch but you knew that.
Always ask the bartenders they always have something new that I've never tried before!
If you love craft beer, this is the best spot in the neighborhood. Be sure to bring plenty of cash and dive in.
Lion Stout, mmm!
Great selection of Belgians and craft beer. It's a dark cave and they play punk rock. Just the way I like it.
Could be a great date spot or just to cozy up to during the cooler months. Tiny place -definitley not a good spot for groups, but sexy because it's so dark. Don't forget to bring cash it's cash only!
Amazing beer and great staff.
Go for the Wells.
What a cool bar. Tiny basement spot. Great music. Well-curated beer list. (Cash only)
Great craft beer selection.
Surprise entry with a sign of a rabbit. Their selection is mainly beer.
A hidden gem on a street otherwise full of drunk college kids. Very dark and maybe 10 seats, this wonderful bar has a huge list of beers (mostly Belgian) and 2 on tap. If you love beer, go here.
Imported Belgian beer bottles. Not American Belgian-style beers, Belgian Belgian-style beers. Cash only, candlelight, cellar. That sums it up.
Awesome dive bar. Huge selection of international beers. The place is fairly small making the whole space very intimate. Bar tenders were awesome. Go here to start off the night.
Fall down the rabbit hole and grab a drink here. Very small space so hopefully you get a seat at the bar.
Table in the way back, if you can
Loved the sour beer selection! 🍺
Looking for this place? Try the blacked out shop front at 124. Walk down those few stairs, open the door and enter this world of amazing beers.
Try the Banana Bread Ale - you won't be disappointed. Great spot to ditch the crowds and revisit laughs after a night at Comedy Cellar.
Ring the buzzer for this speakeasy-style underground beer bar.
Tiny dive bar. Cool place for the location. Bring cash
Have all the things
The best beer bar in the area.
Try one of their many sours. The Petrus Sour is choice.
Delirium or Duvel. Definitely. Do it.
If you love Belgian bottles and Johnny Cash, this is your spot.
Speakeasyish bar. Lots of good, different beer.
Extensive Belgian, German and British beers in bottles. Don't miss the two local brews on tap, names on the blackboard. Cash only.
Emily is a great bartender. Very knowledgeable of the beer selections, and great with suggestions. Nice ambience.
There's only one table in the back, so go early if you don't want to sit at the bar. And definitely check out the amazing beer selection.
Amazing punk bar!
Follow the white rabbit
Had 2 beers...both skunky! Was not impressed & will not be going back.
Loud 90's rock music and no air conditioning on a hot summer Saturday night. Harviestoun Old Engine Oil Black Ale. Awesome.
Try the Underberg shots! They're unusual, but unique!
Good beers, but the bartender wasn't knowledgeable. Told me a gueze was a better version of a lambic. Too many NYU students - the one next to me told the bartender she didn't drink beers.
