People tend to check in during these times:
Diviest dive-bar in the West Village? Lots of beers on the menu (too many?) and definitely not enough light to read the list. Ask the bartender to pick something awesome.
Though you won't find any great cocktails here, it's still a quality and uniquely beer-centric speakeasy in the NYU area.
FUN FACT: Take a page out of Alice in Wonderland and follow the rabbit down the hole into this “craft beer bar.”
A dive for sure, but hidden behind the tough exterior is a superb beer list that sports American craft beer as well as imports from around the world.
Ever been to the catacombs? This is like it, but better—there’s beer. You enter into a dim, tomb-like underground. The beers are imported and largely monk-made. Ask for a Trappist recommendation.
Don't come here. It's mine.
Talk to the bartender to find out what's new, it might not be on the menu yet.
25+ craft brews served exactly as each brewery intended: in their own branded glasses. Amazing!
Order any of the "sour reds" (usually Rodenbach)--phenomenal.
Nothin' to see here... Move along, people... >.>
Hidden below the sidewalk, this dimly lit, this rabbit hole of a dive bar is true to its name. Offers a selection of rare Belgian, German and English brews making it perfect for beer lovers. Cash only
Go down the stairs to Rabbit Club and try to find a saw on the wall.
Gosh this place is too small even for rabbits
Singing Blonde is the best!
Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock is my recent favorite and worth a try... plus you get a free, plastic, white goat to take home.
drink beers there.
Have all the things
Extensive Belgian, German and British beers in bottles. Don't miss the two local brews on tap, names on the blackboard. Cash only.
Amazing punk bar!
nice romantic beer bar hidden from the craziness of the west village. lots of great stuff on tap here all the time.
51 Belgians, and proper glassware.
Tried the Perfect Crime European Blonde. Apparently it's a good starter blonde. This place is a beer drinkers heaven: cozy, warm, dark and hidden beneath the busy streets of MacDougal.
Amazing beer list including sours. Dark, quiet, perfect for the introverted beer lover. I kinda love this place.
Hard to find...harder to leave
See Drew on Sundays... He's a sweetie!
Chimay beer! order it.
Good brew, Good tunes, Good time!
This bar is hidden. No signs, just a black door down some stairs. It's exciting to find! Intimate & cozy setting once you're inside.
Great bar in an otherwise lame part of the city! Great for beer and wine before a show at LPR.
I'm going to be mayor of this bar before Mat B.
try the sour beer. it's not your ordinary belgium brew.
Tiny dive bar. Cool place for the location. Bring cash
The best beer bar in the area.
Try one of their many sours. The Petrus Sour is choice.
Delirium or Duvel. Definitely. Do it.
If you love Belgian bottles and Johnny Cash, this is your spot.
Speakeasyish bar. Lots of good, different beer.
Emily is a great bartender. Very knowledgeable of the beer selections, and great with suggestions. Nice ambience.
There's only one table in the back, so go early if you don't want to sit at the bar. And definitely check out the amazing beer selection.
Follow the white rabbit
Had 2 beers...both skunky! Was not impressed & will not be going back.
Loud 90's rock music and no air conditioning on a hot summer Saturday night. Harviestoun Old Engine Oil Black Ale. Awesome.
Try the Underberg shots! They're unusual, but unique!
Good beers, but the bartender wasn't knowledgeable. Told me a gueze was a better version of a lambic. Too many NYU students - the one next to me told the bartender she didn't drink beers.
Ridiculous beer selection.
First thing on the menu? Light wheat beer recommended by bartender. Still good.
