Fantastic place to spend an afternoon. The heart of Beijing art movement with many exhibits of Chinese art on display. New exhibits all the time. A must see in Beijing.

The most creative art district in BJ with very successful commercial development. A place for film or wedding photos shooting, also for the art galleries, exhibitions and fashion and design events

I was here 5 years ago and it was a BIG wow then. Visiting again today it has really gone way too commercial. A few good art galleries aside most are now touristy stuff. Cao ChangDi is the new 798.

Place for culture and art no more. Now it's mostly shops and entertainment. One of the typical boring tourist destination, that now has nothing to do with what made it famous on the first place.

An obvious stop for anyone interested in Beijing's art scene. 751 D-Park behind (and accessible via) 798 features very bauhaus factory design, and is home to the INTRO electronic festival each May.

Ditch the temples and take in some more recent culture at the Dashanzi Art District, a huge area of the city devoted to modern Chinese art. Buy or just browse.
