Extremely quick exit and great luggage shop there too very reasonable prices and disposed of broken suitcase too
I love tiny and efficient airports, and ABZ is both small and extremely well organised.
Must Visit: Glen Tanar Natural Nature Reserve: a darting red squirrel or an acrobatic Scottish crossbill might be above your head as you wander through ancient trees here!
THINK YOU'RE HARDCORE? You know you're in Scots country when a guy walks past you wearing t-shirt and shorts at a snow covered airport...
Very slow airport
Probably the smallest UK airport that I have flown from bar the Isle of Man. Staff are friendly but during busy times allow time to go through security. I had a long line
...and let's not forget that despite all the so-called investment in the airport, passengers still have to queue outside to board the plane come wind, rain, snow or hail.
The airport which makes Aberdonians embarrassed. Badly run, often rude staff who enforce ridiculous rules which even the experienced traveller has never encountered anywhere else in the world.
Chai Latte at Costa before a flight ... Boost
Loving the free wifi!
Security queue times are a crapshoot - if it's not busy, you sail through in 1-2 minutes. If an international flight is scheduled for departure though, that's when it takes forever.
Now has free WiFi throughout the airport
Very slow airport.
Security is worst than heathrow... :(
Busy, cramped, and queues from start to finish. Another depressing adventure through ABZ.
Ye indeed - the wifi is barely protected at all! If you hang around the 3rd bin on the left outside you get great reception! Free wifi ftw!
Awfully organised queues at the baggage drop off. Staff could apologise for the wait after standing the enormous queue. Never again.
If you have time for a pint before takeoff, the Granite City outside the security check is a couple of notches above The Globe inside.
I have seen the airport change from a local airstrip in 2005 to a international airport to be this year, ever time (16 times by now) a step better, keep on developing.
Departure lounge at the airport. My favorite place in Aberdeen.
классный аэропорт, можно курить правда официальный вход в курилку 1 фунт, но курильщики друг друга не бросают, открвают двери остальным ))), правда при некотором усилии можно открыть самому
Eat before you get here and check in. The foods awful and really over priced.
There is an airside smoking area by gates 6-12
Must Visit: The King's Museum, temporarily the main museum of the University while the Marischal Museum is being renovated. It regularly holds exhibitions from the Marischal's 80,000 strong collection.
Fairly cheap bus to town (£2.70 single).
The male bogs stink. Wear ppe, not pee.
No plug sockets near any of the seats when airside so don't expect to be able to charge your phone, iPod etc!
The wi-fi password is barely protected.. A very nice airport, calm, no-one in a rush. Coming back through this one soon. :L
ComCab taxis operate from door. Others can be summoned to pick up. Bus service into town or to Dyce rail station. Allow time for heavy traffic at rush hours.
Servis Air are useless . Always ask for actual BA staff ;)
Very slow at security end when it gets a bit busy, allow time to be held up here.
Great beer garden and bar to the right of check-in area.
There are only Airport Taxis here. But you can call another taxi company to come and pick you up.
Britain's fastest growing airport, fourth busiest in UK when you include helicopter movements at the world's busiest heliport.
The British Airways kiosk and service desk do not open until 4:30 a.m. even if the rest of the airport has opened...
The smoking area is just outside of the taxi and bus queues. Catch a nice whiff when you leave the airport. :(
If the queue to the security gates is unexpectedly long, try the priority security gate. Costs just 4 quid and you will be through in a breeze.
Get a return ticket for the 727 Shuttle Bus direct to Aberdeen City Centre. Costs a fraction of the price if a taxi. The shuttle bus also has free wi-fi.
Follow @abz_airport for updates and tweet them questions
The globe after security. Nachos and add a beer fir 45p...!
As featured in the movie Local Hero!
The nearest train station is two miles in Dyce. You have to take a bus or taxi.
Poorly operated airport!
1 cafe late & a lorne and egg roll almost 6 pounds @ wetherspoon
Phone a taxi firm and get them to come to the airport and get you. Saves standing on the Airport Taxi queue.
If you're phone battery is running low, look out for ChargeBox in the Departures Area, to recharge your phone securely: www.chargebox.com
