People tend to check in during these times:
This Railway Station is part of the National Rail Network. For train times and ticketing information, please visit http://www.nationalrail.co.uk.
Trains go north and south but sadly none go west
Quick pit stop at the bar before you board.
Nice bar just outside the barriers to wet your whistle
The left luggage is not in the station itself but in the square shared with the shopping mall. Go out the door of the station and instead of turning right to go into the mall, go left near the steps
Only safe-ish place in the whole city.
The only problem is the lack of taxis and the grumpiness of the drivers when they turn up. Otherwise, lovely old station and great access to Union Sq.
Massive shopping, restaurant and cinema complex adjacent to the station, ideal if you are waiting for a connection and the weather is poor. Quite impressed!
Don't buy any drinks from WH Smith, it's cheaper on the train
Staff are very helpful towards people with mobility impairment
Took 2h 30 to get to Aberdeen from Edinburgh by train
Grab a coffee from Costa before going in...
Don't use cash machine outside station there are free ones inside Union Square near Subway
Don't bother with the crappy expensive food at WH Smith, go to Boots in Union Sq and get a £3 meal deal
The only cash machine at the station charges £1.99 for withdrawals! There's a free Lloyds TSB cash machine at the adjoining Union Square (located on upper level, by the car parking payment machines).
Don't pay for the toilets unless you're in a hurry - the shopping centre next door has decent ones for free.
The Toilets are only 20p and have sanitiser for the seats. What more can you ask for?
Its bloody freeziiiinngggg.
A drink before your journey always helps...
Avoid the waiting room inside the train station. It smells really bad. Instead sit on a cold metal bench or go get a cuppa from Union Square
Kill some time when you are early for the train and visit the Apple store. Free wifi access
