All that you could ask for in a bread bakery. Each loaf is given special care. The pan de mie are soft and slightly sweet. The walnut levain has a dense, malty crumb inlaid with chopped walnuts. Read more

Tons of amazing bread. All different kinds freshly made. Had to buy a sourdough while in San Fran. You can't go wrong. All fairly priced and if you don't know which one you want very helpful staff

Take it from an NYC bread snob - this place makes the best sourdough I've ever had. Just the smell of the rising dough outside is phenomenal.

Croissants. Half the price of tartine and much better. Grab one and a coffee at Blue Bottle and sit outside and watch the tourists watching ferries.
