One of those airports where you should probably give yourself 3 hours for international departures
  • Wilson F.
Shiny on the outside, dirty on the inside. And probably one of the absolute worst outbound security and immigration set-ups I have ever seen, along with a terrible new international departure zone.

It's a quick and efficient airport with lots of electronic passport machines

Quality varies greatly depending on the terminal you're in.

Very nice and organized airport. Super close to the city center both by taxi and public transports.
  • Antal János M.
Doesn't feel like a developed, 1st class international airport. The wifi sucks, the security lines are a mess, airport personnel are unrespectful, very little food and shopping places.

Try not to eat here - Very expensive! Buy water before you arrive. Two small bottles of water cost €7.30!
  • Stephanie F.
Airside food and water is expensive

The Aerobus is faster than taking the Metro to city centre. It's hard to find: same floor as the metro entrance near the interurban buses. Just ask someone where to go of you can't find it.

Slowest, least efficient airport anywhere 👎🏻. Shopping is pre security so plan accordingly.

Tax free office is the worse by far , lounge is dirty , duty free shops only for arriving passengers

If heading outside the EU delay your border crossing as much as possible - after the xsing there will be no more than a pathetic McDonalds and gift shop. Before the xsing enjoy the outside patio!

Under no circumstances go through passport control. Once you're through to gates D or E you're there FOREVER. The signage doesn't actually make that clear.
  • Katarína D.
There is a metroline too, but doesn't make sense. It goes not even close to the center and is overpriced - u can use regular metro tickets for train but you can not use them for actual metro. Mindfuck
  • Katarína D.
I love this airport. There is a garden with cafe what is perfect. Aerobus to pl cataluny for around 6€, cheaper is the train but you have to first go by free to another terminal.

Security is (probably) organised by a toddler, be ZEN because it's a mess.Gates D / E have 2 very limited duty frees, but you have a view to gates A,B C below - which look frustratingly nice.

Don't bother getting there TOO early, there wasn't even anyone at the desk to check us in to our flight a couple of hours ahead.

Very dirty and stinky toilets. Extremely expensive duty frees. If you don't have money..you are dying out of thirst. Most of the cafes close up at 22:00. Arrivals and departure are mixed together.

Aerobus is the best way to get to city center. Costs about 8 euros

One of the nicest airports I have seen. Magnificent architecture. The material of the floor is special in that sense that you barely hear people walking.

Unfortunately when arrived at the airport we spent 2h30 standing in the line for passport check, there were more than 10 offices but only 2 were working. A bad reception for tourists.

Barcelona's Airport! Terminal 1 is huge and the duty free section is basically like a mall!!!

Tax Free is different than Global Blue. Go near Checkin station 1 for Customs, get a stamp in the receipt + paperwork from the store, then visit the tax free station after security near gates U36.

Please ignore Dehesa Santa Maria cafe (on departure zone). Food quality is awful here. It does not look fresh and tastes bad.

If you have tax free paper. Make sure you stamp them before passport control; otherwise you can not collect your money. The whole set up is done purposely to not give your money back. #shady #sneaky

Spacious and with several shops. Cons: bathrooms are a mess on the ground floor, and wifi never works properly.
  • Karla C.
Such a nice airport. Stores open at 6 am! You can find whatervee you missed!
  • Abdullah A.
The shops are not duty free, and you have to do your last minute shopping BEFORE you finish passport control.
  • Ankur B.
As of July 2016, the free WiFi signin page by the airport doesn't accept dashes (and possibly other special characters) in an email address when trying to connect to wifi.
