Transit flight passengers have to pass an extra security checkpoint - WTF?!! They ripped my duty free bag open (!!) 25 min before my flight - WHY?! Worst airport for transit flights ever!

Free wifi, charging stations and pianos placed in the waiting areas, makes this a very easy airport to wait around in.

This airport (Terminal 3) is always over crowded. Even the Alitalia business lounge is awful

Baggage claim area has a coffee bar, either really Italian... or, just a sign you'll be waiting for a while.

    very comfortable and modern airport!

Easy out - but beware construction on the way in ! Leave ample time for check in !!

If you like losing your luggage, and you are flying Alitalia, this is is the place for you.

Prepare to spend time looking for your flight, check in online if you can because those lines are the longest, even baggage check is long..
  • Emily B.
The airport is a little confusing when attempting to find your airport for check in. People are friendly and the food is not that great

Security lane is a bit chaotic, but traveling to the city is quite easy and comfortable with the Leonardo Express
  • Dave S.
This place has the best and worst security. Snipers up above. Checked out passport no less than 3 times. And, all the lines took almost 3 hours to get through. Safe comes at the cost of VERY slow.

Most US-based airlines fly out of Terminal 5.

Give yourself lots of time cause the security here is the worst I've ever encountered! Basically have to be naked going through the metal detector.

Wifi here is really impressive. I already boarded the plane and the speed is still high! Sadly, it didn't work with Line for some reasons.

Alitalia customer service is awful and their lounges are overcrowded, barebones and have limited food and beverage options.

This airport is a nightmare for families. Most bathrooms don't have changing tables and there isn't elevator access for strollers in most areas.

As is the case with everything in rome, expensive, poor quality and terrible organisation.
  • Shanika J.
If you fly early in the morning all the shops are closed 🤔
  • Signe Gry B.
#alitalia No problem there. No delay. Nice staff. Everything was fine. 👍
  • Signe Gry B.
Nice/need to know: It takes approximately 7 minutes (+/- waiting for the elevator) to go from where you purchase the train ticket and to the train.

Take the Leonardo express train to the city, just 30min and 14euros. Very easy.

İnerken küçücük gibi gelir ama eğer buradan uçacaksanız muazzam büyüklükte bir havaalanı👍 Feels so small at arrival but it's huge if you are gonna fly👻

Nice airport but really expensive. The security is definitely on edge though, they pretty much draw there guns at every person coming through parking security making you feel a little uneasy.
  • Brian F.
Signage at Fiumicino is a mess. You'll want to stay sharp and watch for unexpected turns, ambiguous guidance, and message clutter.

If you're taking the express train to the city, stay away from the shady ladies in the ticket booths: head straight for the machines.
