The T4 is simply beautiful. You can get there by cercanías or bus. The metro takes you to the T1. There's a free bus going constantly to all 4 terminals.

A few years already since it was constructed and it still looks modern and great. Large and backlit is an architecture masterpiece. And it's really efficient. My favorite airport, and I know a few!

Best tip: when going to/coming from the airport, opt for the Cercanias Renfe train, instead of taxi and the metro (línea 8) to reach the centre. It is cheaper and faster (these trains have less stops)

Must visit: The Prado Museum in Madrid features some of the best collections of European art. The best known works on display at the museum are the Majas of Goya and Las Meninas by Velázquez.

One of the best airports in Europe. The stuff is super slow with the baggage checks but it’s easy clean and accessible! Good shopping of course (welcome to Spain) and good food

Really liked this airport. A large variety of stores are right in front of the gates, so you can spend your time there, without having to worry about anything else. 👍

Bring your walking shoes between terminal 1 and 2 if you are connecting from long haul to regional jets. Stop at the "eat place" in terminal 2 for fresh sandwiches, yogurt and juice/wine/beer.

Nicely designed airport. Great food and shopping options in the main terminal. The tram ride to the remote terminals is a few minutes long.Take the elevators down to the tram if possible to save time.

Beautiful airport but a massive building which Is very confusing. Takes you forever to get from one terminal to the other. Make sure you get there early enough to find your gate.

Official taxis offer a flat rate from the airport to the city center and back, so don't forget to check with your driver to make sure, because they tend to forget ;-)

Grab a ride on the Airport Express, it pulls up right outside terminal 2 (across from taxis), cost 5 euros & stops in the center of town.

Stay in Chueca / Malasaña. And if you eat meat, RUN, don't walk, to Posada de la Villa, and order the roast lamb. It's the Lamb of God. If you don't eat meat, consider making an exception ;)

Getting from T1S to T1 is an Escher-inspired puzzle. Your goal: get to the train! The obstacles: escalators going everywhere and nowhere except customs, glass walls, & vacuum-sealed glass passageways.

Get your time for the T4S, it's a long ride. Note that depending on the flights you are not even allowed to access the gate until closer to boarding time. Plenty of space but few chairs.

May look a bit dated but nice staff makes it very comfortable. Be aware about substantial time it could take to walk from one terminal to the other - you may want to opt for a shuttle ride instead.

Save 30-45€ taxi ride. take the bus #200 into the city. Drops you off at Av. De Americas. From there you can grab the metro or another bus to your final destination.

Terminal 2 and the "VIP" Lounge is not the best. I prefer Terminal 4. Perhaps a rennovation will help. the Sala VIP has seen better times
