Take at least 3-4 hours prior your check in to arrive to the airport because traffic is horrible

We had to spend 6 hours here in a stop over and it wasn't too bad. There was a decent restaurant outside and downstairs where we could get a good meal and access the wifi.

Quiznos in the food court runs a promo where you get a free 50cl bottle of water for the plane, in exchange for filling out a survey after you had lunch there. Good offer at ~5000 colones/sandwich.

Check your ticket for fast track stamp (if you have status or Business Class). It will save you much time!

They will not let ANY liquids through if it isn't in a SMALL ziploc bag. They will make you throw it away. Be prepared.

Not sure if the line up always goes out the door (literally outside) for security, but may be smart to give yourself lots of time.

Sit upstairs at lavazza for good wifi and coffee. You can over look the security line to see how the wait is going to be.

There's a tax for leaving the country, right now is $29 and it's more convenient to pay in the hotel or before arriving to the airport, the line can be quite big

You can't take liquids or gels on board a flight to the U.S., even if you buy water after the security check.

With tourism being the biggest income earner of the nation, they need to do something at airport. Slow and confusing. One World (except for Iberia) doesn't have lounge. I can go on

Free WiFi. If you can manage get an early morning flight, security lines are practically empty. Don't forget to get your exit tax ($29) before you head to the gates.

Rather small, which makes for short lines. If you are leaving in the morning try the Gallopinto from the VIP room.

If you're an airport sleeper, this airport is great. You will never be the only one, and it's a free night before your early morning flight. It gets busy at around 4am for the 6am flights.
